It’s Murphy who needs to be better. Quintana should never have gone out for the 7th. Not ever. And, soft spot for Seigler is not good management.

I’ve tried to defend Seigler, because they clearly see something in him, but he has to be just about out of chances.

This Bauers/Siegler thing just has to end.

Siegler should be taking no at bats away from Durbin, ever.

There is no chance we keep Bauers over Hoskins on the playoff roster, so what in the hell is Murphy doing?

We know what we have in Bauers, and it ain't gonna cut it.

It's maddening.

Didn’t want to ice the pitcher

I get that. But it would be more like icing your own kicker, up by three, with a minute left and also possibly running another 20 seconds off the clock if the challenge is successful.  Anyways....great win. Great September day for the Brewers.

I’m getting close to having lockridge over Perkins at this point.     At least he gives a tough at bat.    Give Perkins a couple of weeks in minors to work it out

Also not understanding why Seigler would play and Monasterio is back to the last guy on the bench after how well he played.  I trust him much more defensively, and he's usually good a solid AB even against RHP.

If Vaughn could break out of it, and Yelich play RF. Having Hoskins at DH this lineup would be amazing.

We are taking the guy who is competing for a batting title out of the lineup?

No I wouldn't move Sal....oops.

Sal, Chourio and Yellich would be a nice playoff OF.

Why Bauers and Siegler are in

STOP ANALYZING!!!!!!! WHERE ARE YOUR KNEEJERK MUSCLES!!!!!!!! WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM?????

Honestly, Seigler had a very shaky game on the defensive end, and if Urias looks solid in Nashville this week his spot in the postseason is probably in jeopardy. They don't need 3 1B on the roster in October but they want a LHB on the bench & Bauers will probably be it.

It's a great problem to have... but I can't justify sitting Collins.

Yelich won’t play the field anymore this year if his back hurts.

The Cubs aren't catching the Brewers as has been the overwhelming probability for like a month. Are we going to do the "but their schedule!" thing again? They have lost 60 games.

And they're 4-5 in their last nine games. Sometimes you're made to feel they're being chased by some supreme juggernaut & we have no margin for error.

Great bullpen management by Murphy tonight to flip Uribe and Koenig to keep the Phillies from getting to pinch hit their typical starters in the 9th and have a left on left matchup if the big sluggers got to the plate.

Hoskins isn’t that good really.   He’s just better than Bauers.   That’s about it

Hoskins is capable of going on a tear, and better than Bauers is better for this team.

Hoskins had a 340 OBP this year when he got hurt.....He's a good player

Interesting.. Uribe to face the bottom of the order? We want a lefty to face the top?

What was going on there, in the 8th Philly had RHH due up that more than likely were NOT getting PH for, hence Uribe. For the 9th, they led off with two RHH that you would be more likely to hit for, and they had three LHH on the bench, Marsh, Kepler, & Stott. By using Koenig you kept them on the bench, and if you get to Schwarber & Harper, Koenig is the guy you want out there anyway.

You don't need 13 pitchers on a playoff roster so it probably isn't between Bauers & Hoskins. My guess is both of them, as well as Vaughn, will make it.

Why? What possible purpose does Jake Bauers serve on a playoff roster?

The man isn’t versatile. He hasn’t played at above a replacement level in any season since the 2018 season. The Brewers had their best stretch of the season when he was out for an extended stretch, so you can’t say his left handedness is important to the roster.

There aren’t 26 better options for a playoff roster on our 40? What am I missing?

Definitely don't need three guys you have to run for for in a pinch. Pick two

They also had their best stretch of the season without Hoskins……and Chourio for that matter…..lol.

If the Brewers keep Bauers in the roster I have little doubt they will do it because they think he is a better option than some others……..the amount of time spent analyzing the end of bench guys is kind of silly.

I have no love for Bauers but he is left handed and had a nice game tonight both at the plate and in the field….  And yet after a big win against the Phillies this is what we post about?

lets see how the rest of the season goes……..as I recall he hit a monster home run in the post season last year…….

if they keep him it will be because they don’t see a role for both Hoskins and Vaughn….at least that’s what Murphy said.

We should know more when Hoskins rehab time is over……plenty of time to figure it out.
