Could be a Pyrrhic victory if we lose William...

Pyrrhic" is an adjective meaning achieved at too great a cost, or so costly it negates the benefits, most often used in the phrase "Pyrrhic victory" to describe a triumph that ultimately brings ruin to the victor. The term originates from King Pyrrhus of Epirus, whose victories against the Romans at the Battles of Heraclea and Asculumwere devastating, costing him so many troops that he famously said another such victory would "utterly undo him".

Sophia tweeted William gave a thumbs up about his wrist at the end of the game. FWIW.

He probably will still get the day off tomorrow.

I digress, but check out Seattle's game ending DP when you get a chance.

That was incredible. Mostly, it was the spectacular catch.

Ours was the better all-around one, but Robles came from nowhere. Great individual play.

Excellent explanation.

Yeah. Ours was better and Robles really seemed to come from thin air. Houston's 3d base coach certainly didn't see it coming!

Would be awesome to celebrate on their field!

Would be awesome to soak the visitor's clubhouse in Miller High Life

Jared Koenig gets six outs, on sixteen pitches. And faces five hitters. Just when you think you've seen it all.......

X-Ray neg on Contreras is wonderful news.

Despite only four runs in two games, I have no problem with the ABs the last two nights. Well, almost none. Horrible piece of work by Chourio after the leadoff double. When his game sense/feel catches up with the talent, look out.

Vaughn quietly putting up really good trips to the plate again. Actually has for awhile now.

I once heard from someone who said that it isn't easy to work up a sweat in Arizona because it's a 'dry heat'. I'm pretty sure it's the same guy who concocted the analytics that say Joey Ortiz isn't an elite defender. RBI hit aside, if he doesn't make that diving stop, they most likely lose.

Patrick looks to me like he may be a BP piece in the postseason. As a one-time through the order guy, it seems like his stuff works really well.

D-backs get out of a jam in the 8th, 4-3 going to the bottom of the inning. What would our number be for the one seed if Arizona hung on?

I believe 4.

Thank goodness!

I'd still be a little cautious. Initial x-rays can be misleading on some fractures that don't show up for a day or two

If it wasn't for that double play, Mears would've come in to pitch. Now we have him fresh for tomorrow.

Can somebody explain to me what happened to Contreras.    We cannot have a Jansen Perkins Ortiz lineup in the playoffs.    We just can’t.

Batter swung and hit his hand.

Interesting that Mono is getting in games at first base instead of Hoskins. Even more proof that he's not going on playoff roster.

I wish I knew the story there
