But they collectively are Koufax (or better) right now. Last 4 games for Glasnow, 5 for Ohtani and 6 for Snell and Yamamoto they have covered 121 innings allowing 57 hits and striking out 137. Overall 0.75 WHIP and 0.97 ERA.

Was talking to my in-laws today (both Twins fans) about the 1965 World Series.

Koufax threw 24 innings in that series. He gave up 2 runs, only 1 earned. He pitched a complete game shutout in Game 5. Then, he did the same thing ON TWO DAYS REST in Game 7.

We had a fun time seeing how many names from the Twins roster they could remember. They did pretty good for all this happening 60 years ago.

Point is: baseball is great, win or lose. You don't remember these games if you're not a part of them.

Go Crew! Let's get one and see where it goes.

It'd be fun to have another home game at least.

On the one hand, this feels like the kind of game where we'll fall behind 8-0, ultimately lose 10-7, then search for silver linings in a failed late comeback.

On the other hand, the Brewers should understand as much as anyone how One Defeat can screw up an opposing team's best laid pitching plans. Just One Defeat of LA would leave them needing to win Game 5 in order to avoid travelling back to Milwaukee.

C'mon guys - throw a massive wrench in LA's plans.

Yeah, poor Dodgers, having to throw Blake Snell again in order to have to win the series...

One thing about Murphy-

it's not just the relievers (ashby, uribe) that he rode too hard down the stretch, it's also the three lefty hitters that are struggling. Yelich, Turang, Frelick.

Those guys didn't get nearly enough days off in the regular season. Especially that 19 games in 18 days stretch or whatever that was. There was certainly opportunity to give those guys an off day here or there, and he didn't. And now they're feeling the effects of that.

I dunno...they had a bye the first round of the playoffs

Hindsight yadda yadda I don't know how much resting really would have helped us now and we were in the midst of keeping space from the cubs

They had too much rest!  Then too little rest!  If Murph could just Goldilocks it, we'd be golden!

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

5 games off before the playoffs and then 5 games in 8 days.  They were really overworked.

Yeah, but if he didn't go with his front line relievers, we might not have gotten this far.

Turang leading off is just what we need right now why not

I'm kinda done with Murphy slander. He's a huge part of why we got here. I give him a ton of credit for this team's soul. So will everyone else after we win the next 4...

I just don't think he did or didn't do anything that cost us.

Wonder if I will be turning the game off early again tonight?  Never thought I would shut off any of the games in the NLCS because the Brewers were so dreadfully comatose.   So far 3 of 3.  Yep, I missed frantic bottom of the 9th on Monday.  However, I did catch Turang striking out on a pitch at least a foot high on Gameday.

Murphy needs to name Quintana and actually manage a traditional baseball game.   These 'openers' really do show a lack of confidence or at times incompetence.

You turned off game 1 of the NLCS in a 3-1 game?

Turang leading off, Yelich batting 3rd. You definitely cannot accuse Murphy of not being willing to go down with this ship.

Fully expecting Turang to lean into a 2 out fastball off the kneecap down 10-1 in the 9th and not be ready for Spring Training because that’s just kind of how things work for us.

Yeah I think way too much "they're worn out" AND "the Dodgers have too much money" is being thrown around. It's a lot easier to admit those things than just the possibility that we stopped playing well at a very bad time. I'm not saying the other stuff isn't a factor...but I think all of it's a factor, and the latter is the biggest one.

If they got this back to Milwaukee somehow, the whole mood would shift toward expecting to win. If we're going to lose I don't want to do it at home. But that's not really how these things work.

Perkins and Ortiz? That will do it

A void at 8 and 9.

I can't remember who advocated Yelich play left field to free up the DH, but I am behind that idea.

Yes, he's getting up there. But we'd be asking him to play left field for a game, not cornerback for the Packers.

I think it did take a lot out of them to win the series that sent Greenback$ Greg home to Chicago, but I agree none of that matters now. All that matters is making good pitches, and getting the bat on the ball.

Gonna tweak the line up a little bit for Murphy.

DH Chourio
3B Durbin
1B Bauers
C Contreras

RF Frelick
SS Monasterio
LF Yelich
CF Perkins

2B Turang
