Skubal and Degrom were both taken in the 9th round. I know these are both pitchers and harder to project...but I feel pedigree only goes so far and means less as they age.

With the way the Brewers strategize their draft I don't know that draft position is too telling about players that then go on to make it to the show. But these tender embraces of Collins, these overly warm hugs and snuggles, feel like a little too much to me. He's just a guy and he has his warts. He wore a Brewers uniform for a while and now he doesn't.

I'm not that broken up about it. To beat the proverbial dead horse I just trust the moves this front office group makes.

I also feel that Collin’s lack of defensive versatility played a role in the brewers willingness to move on from him.

When you are a backup outfielder they want players who can play good defense at multiple positions……….run prevention is a core pillar for them.

I never want to make trades just to make trades and I do understand how winter works for us often enough...

But (for better or for worse) I am glad Arnold gave us all something to fight about for a week with this deal. Happy Holidays to you all and here is to hoping Arnold throws another curveball at us before the year is over so we have something to bicker about leading into the New Year.

I miss Brewers' baseball.

At this point, sadly, it’s looking like nothing for nothing. I hope and trust at least one of the three will help somebody sometime.

I love a well-written sentence & both of those sentences qualify!

More often than not the Brewers seem to have a knack for nailing the 'buy low, sell high' deals, and I think this one would've hit had Zerpa not gone down.

It still might if he pans out when he comes back. Then again it's hard to know if the players we traded would be struggling like they are now if they stayed here. It's hard to judge what a player might have been had they stayed or if they'd have gone to another team. Sometimes teams fit players, sometimes they don't. Kind of like Almond Joy or Mounds.

There needs to be a King Thames version of the bible.

Well thank you for that earworm, which will soundtrack my next several nightmares. (You’re right though.)

Thanks @edfunderburk.  I try.
