Start Koenig on DL, allows us to keep more of those lefties.

Yeah. Based on Murphy referencing Koenig's workload last season, I wonder if he and the team wanted him to take an extended offseason to really give the arm a break. Let him chill on the IL to start the season.

That's the hope, anyway.

Man after seeing Harrison’s change up yesterday, Brewers may want to start with a 6 man rotation. According to Hogg, Harrison who struggled throwing a kick change with the Red Sox last year figured out a grip that works for him in the offseason. It looked like a legit weapon yesterday and is a huge unlock when facing righties.

Uribe's stuff being down so significantly in his first two outings this spring definitely is worthy of a yellow caution flag. Too early in ST to rule it a red flag but definitely something I'm going to be keeping an eye on over the next month.

I was concerned about this too, initially. BUT, then I took a step back and acknowledged this is the first time we are getting ST FT Statcast data - we don't have a reference to his historical ST ramp up. This outing assuaged any near term concerns I had.

Electric:

Hopefully this is a more accurate sign of where he is when he needs to be his best.

Yeah no longer concerned about his velo. Koenig is the real yellow flag guy now and it sounds like that might be a red flag based on Murphy's comments about him losing weight in the offseason (guessing he was sick)

According to FanGraphs, Koenig still has 2 options remaining. So whether it’s an IL stint or just starting the season in the minors to manage workload and figure out what the issue is, they have multiple paths they can take.

I think Harrison is going to be in the rotation, whether it's 5 or 6 guys, he's going to be in the top 5 imo.

Yeah the weight loss thing is a bit of a 'Huh?' pause moment for sure - especially when he is getting notably pounded in the early going. Hoping everything is OK and they give him the time to build back up in a good way. Thankfully, we certainly don't appear to lack the depth to cover those innings meaningfully should we need to do so for any amount of time. Where I 'worry' (I say this very lightly) is Murphy can lean on those trust guys a bit too much and if Koenig does indeed need time will Murphy see that too? I have to think he will and he does. I still scratch my head daily this Spring at the insane pitching depth we have post-Peralta.

Thought the change up looked good and was effective……did have 4 ks in 3 innings but yeah when he did get hut it was catching too much of the middle.

Needs to get that sinker down
