That was not an awesome week of baseball. Hopefully, this week will be better.

A baseball week runs from Monday to Sunday. Today's game will just determine how bad the week was.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

If I'm looking for a silver lining in this stretch of play, I've felt good about what we've seen from Lockridge. Not in a starting capacity, but I like what he has to offer a playoff roster, although his inverse platoon splits are mildly annoying.

Pat Murphy postgame presser last night:

”There’s no guarantee that we jump right out of this. This might be whatever it might be.”

Skip, if that rally speech doesn’t fire up the troops to start turning this around, nothing will.

LOL, I know... I was thinking the same thing as I typed it.

I'm still not worried, though. Speaking for myself, I think the long, boring offseason has made all of us overanxious about seeing the Brewers at the bottom of the standings. .500 is a perfectly acceptable winning percentage at this point of the season. Last year, the Brewers were 13-15 at this point, and were still over a month away from seeing .500 again.

I think most of us anticipated a divisional dog-fight all season in this improved division, but that doesn't change the fact that last place sucks.

Last year they were under .500 a third of the way through the season. If THAT team can stumble along you'd think the 2026 team w/o a few of their more important players might hit a rough patch w/o fans jumping off a bridge.

You'd think so, anyway.

The starting pitching has (mostly) been keeping them in games, too. Although a little more length is needed as we move forward.

Also, for all the railing about the 'pen, Ashby has been good, Megill has allowed one hit in his last four appearances, as has Uribe--unfortunately it was the walkoff HR in Detroit. I still think the BP is going to prove to be OK, although they have to figure out what they want to do with Zerpa.

It's an odd thing to say, but I could easily see a line like that firing up a veteran-laden team. How this team takes it, or if they even paid attention to it, I have no idea.

Is the roof closed? Maybe that's the problem.

Problem with what? Us losing?

LOL, Jim Mora Rant: "Playoffs?! Don't talk about—playoffs?! You kidding me? Playoffs?! I just hope we can win a game, another game"
