It feels sacrilegious to compare the Cubs to Team Streak.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Now the lineup is Jenga with Yelich leading off? Chourio is not a two and of course k. Murphy will never get this right.

Since Murphy took over in 2024 the Brewers have scored the 4th most runs in MLB despite being 24th in home runs.

Going back to May 18th of last year the Brewers have scored thee most runs in MLB despite being 27th in home runs.

You don't think Murphy is getting the most out of his mostly powerless lineup? There's a lot more room for downward mobility than upward from where they're sitting.

Chourio has a 128 wRC+ over 528 PA batting second in his career (his most PA of any lineup spot). How is that not a two?

That was quite a year. Also had the Rob Deer 9th inning game tying home run off Mark Clear  in that 13 game streak.

And nieves no hitter

I love when someone gives an unresearched hot take and Sveum comes in and detonates it with a bucketload of data. It's the most polite "you are wrong" we have here and it's my favorite thing.

He's not a dick about it either.

He's only 22. He's only going to get better.

Yes for sure. I'm just saying he's been like 15th percentile hitter in run value against FB as a pro and has been like 98th percentile against offspeed and breaking pitches. If he can figure out how to hit FB, he's going to be a mega star.

Meh.  It's mostly because it's not June and they've already had double digit winning streaks (twice already) and now losing streaks.

100% convinced it's going to happen.

Yeah I think so as well. There's really no reason he shouldn't be able to hit fastballs well. He has really quick hands and has great all fields power. We've seen him hit fastballs really well just a matter of doing it consistently.  Maybe just a pitch recognition thing?

Yeah, I knew where you were going with it. I almost put my comment in blue, but 1987 was the year I was locked in as a Brewer fan.  And certainly the funnest non-playoff team in Brewer history.  Plus my therapist says that I'm almost worked out my issues with the Twins winning the WS that year with a worse regular season record than the Brewers, while the Brewers finished third... Nope, not bitter at all!

I only learned a few days ago that pitchers were allowed to challenge since it seems it's both rare and for us, never happened before that.  Not sure why they wouldn't just let the catcher handle it.

Counsell on a some what hot seat and so is David Stearns. Those guys helped build something here but got greedy. Shame

They sure did, they gambled image.jpeg.c37f637f5a5c0239664e96e7f0a028d7.jpeg and not as happy as they once were.

Both Arnold & Murphy are better than these two greedy ex-Brewers

Uribe is definitely going to get an earful in the dugout for that

As he should.  Biggest obstacle to his success is between his ears.  Ironically, it's also what helps make him, as is true for a lot of us.  He's better at harnessing it than he once was, but there's still some growth to undergo.
