Which top prospects would you be willing to part with?

It's not about what any of us would do, but rather that reasonable people may disagree about the present tools (or their OWN evaluation of what being a "prospect" means in the first place) enough that they may disagree about the value of different players stats. If the Brewers paid out pre-debut contracts waiting for stats to confirm their baises, they wouldn't have given the extension to Pratt.

Ok after hearing a stat on a podcast that had been mentioned by Spencer M recently. I’m kinda out on Fischer and think they should sell high on him now and trick a dumb GM. Maybe send him to the Angels as a center piece in a Detmers trade. Fischer at double A has a higher in zone whiff rate (swinging at missing at straight up strikes) than EVERY SINGLE MLB PLAYER this year. Not an easy issue to fix. Trajectory kinda screams post rookie season Keston Hiura without major adjustments (so a AAAA player with a million MLB Ks) and in zone whiff rate is a very hard issue to fix. Likely to end up a big MLB bust.

out of him and Burke I think Burke ends up the better MLB player

although, brewers can just be patient and use a wait and see approach and if he ends up a bust no sweat they can give the 1B job to Burke or someone else

He's younger than Blake Burke, and the same age as Fischer and Dinges who were both in A-ball six weeks ago.  Turang didn't break into the majors until he was 23, and didn't become positive in offensive WAR until age 25.

To think that Jett can't become a meaningful player is a bit short-sighted, and while he may not currently be a top 100 prospect (top 100 prospect lists tend to have a bias towards the shiny new toy - how many of those who displace Jett will still be on the list a year from now?), I don't think there's a shortage of GMs who think he can still become a very good major league player.

Who cares about his age compared to league average age? He’s not going to grow any taller at 23. Odds are he’s not going to pack on 20 lbs of muscle either. Is simply getting older going to allow him to drive the ball more consistently? 

Williams has 500+ PAs in AAA, that is significant experience especially considering in today’s game the best minor league talent barely plays in AAA at all (Caminero 236 PAs, McGonigle 0 PAs, Konnor Griffin 21 PAs, Witt Jr. 285 PAs, PCA 275 PAs, Chourio 54 PAs, Pratt 261 PAs). What is it about his current game that suggests he has a clear path to being an impact player (besides he was a first round pick and was on some prospect list)? 

My point is, when Jett Williams was drafted the people who scout players for a living, had concerns if his size would allow him to generate enough power to be a meaningful player in the major leagues. In the low levels of the minor leagues he was able to do it. Now, in a significant number of plate appearances against advanced pitching in AAA he hasn’t. His on base skills which have always been his calling card have deteriorated to merely average against advanced pitching as well.

Williams has some tools, so you might be right and he’s not a finished product, but he’s certainly validated the skepticism about his game, and would not be considered amongst the elite prospects in the game.

If he ends up even close to a Schwarber level MLB guy I’d be pissed if it was on a different team, however I checked this morning and Fischer’s 35%ish K rate at A+/AA is well above Schwarbers last minor league season at AA/AAA (around 23%) so I strongly doubt Fischer hits as an MLB guy. Hope I’m wrong!

The only top 30 prospects by tiers in my opinion that the Brewers should be dealing are as follows. 

Jett Williams/Bishop Letson/Luke Adams/Quero (for bigger pieces)

Marco Dinges/Ragsdale/Coleman Crow/Meccage/Burke

Former top 30 guys: Mike Boeve/Dylan O'Rae/ Brock Wilken/Tyler Black/Fenelon/Juan Baez/ Jose Anderson. 

I am not inclined to deal anyone else higher up than Jett in the least bit. You could try selling high on Fischer but you need to nail that eval. It would be disgusting to see him be Schwarber lite for another team.
