My day job does not involve math, just always been interested in all those numbers on the back of the baseball cards ever since opening my first pack of 1986 Topps.

Pic is Sveumer’s actual senior photo, if the internet is to be believed. Stole it off one of those yearbook pages forever ago.

My vision of that tux still hanging in your closet has been forever ruined.

This little  one game suspension for uribe being a doofus is looming larger then suspected

In what way? There will be one game where he can’t be used and in the meantime he can be used however he would be used without the suspension.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Can we just pick and choose the game though?    I’m assuming wasting this time with appeal means as soon as they reject it he goes in suspension right away.    Hopefully it’s after a game he throws 23 pitches  and not one where we need him like tonight would be

Yes, they can. For example if Uribe throws 30 pitches tonight and Murphy would have given him the day off tomorrow anyway, they can drop the appeal and serve next game.

I get that.   But if we are waiting until appeal is over I don’t think we can pick the game.

You don't need to wait until the appeal is over. You can drop the appeal and just serve the suspension.

Zack Agnos is starting for Colorado, He's a RHP with rather unimpressive #'s who will be making his 2nd start of the year. My biggest concern is that sometimes an unfamiliar hurler gives us fits, at least on the outset.

Sal Frelick is 7 for his last 18, including a few walks w/only 2 Ks. As per usual he hasn't struck out much all season, but I'll stand short of saying that there's been poor batted ball luck for him because until recently his contact has been pretty weak. All things considered, the guy approaches his ABs much too well for the lousy first one-third of his season to be indicative & hopefully he's starting to get on a roll. Not to mention no one on the roster comes close to him as a RF. Sticking with him through the rough patch is/was a no-brainer.

I really like Sal.  He was a solid player that turned himself into an extension candidate last year.

his stats have been lousy this year, but I’m good (given his 2025 season) to ride it out… provided we aren’t also providing roster spots to Perkins, Rengifo, and either Hamilton/Ortiz.

ideally, we keep Hamilton and Frelick up, send down Ortiz, and DFA Perkins and Rengifo.

also, would place a call to SF about a backup catcher swap

They will also know when the appeal will be heard and plan accordingly in case the suspension is upheld.

With all of the significant injury problems affecting the Brewers pitching staff, Uribe’s possible suspension isn’t even a drop in the ocean.

Koenig unfortunately looked pretty rough on his rehab assignment again. Velo is like 4-5mph down from where it was last year.

It’s gotten to the point where I would guess they are talking trades to other teams. Nothing Skubal level but something because they are running out of reinforcements.

They just acquired reliever Joel Kuhnel from the A’s for cash.

I'm not president of the Gary Sanchez Fan Club or anything, but I'm not nuts about Contreras playing all four vs SF including the day game following a night game & each of the first two in Denver.

I feel you though he will be in there tomorrow for sure with a LHP on the mound.

And he has been awful at the plate all week.

I wonder if that finger issue is still around.

I enjoyed Haase when he was here but they been there, done that with him as a backup catcher & I don't think they'd be interested.

Whenever Perkins is removed from the roster, I think a DFA could be a possibility but I wouldn't be surprised if he simply gets optioned. The only OF in Nashville you really don't want him taking time from is Lara, and that wouldn't happen. I think they'd rather hold onto him & if he gets hot down there you might have a chance of including him in a deal somewhere if a team loses OF depth due to injury. Not real likely, but no risk either.
