A couple of comments on last nights game

pratt is doing just fine.  Somebody who actually does something with the bat is better than someone who does nothing like Ortiz

I’m at the point of going to a 6 man rotation.   We can’t be burning out Miz in June.   We have to be careful with him and Harrison imo.

im regards to adding to the team.   A perfect addition would be a power type hitter to play third this year or right field.   I also would like a 7th-8th inning type guy to go with uribe and megill.    Ashby needs more rest.

Koenig back is that relief option...but I think they should target another closer/late inning arm at the deadline, too.

And yeah, a 6 man rotation with quality arms is a good idea at this point in the season - the Brewers have the depth to do just that, which is crazy considering Priester is out injured the whole season.

There were two guys in the lineup that would often put out bad at bats.... Rengifo and Ortiz against RHP.

It's cool to see very few awful at bats thru the order now. (Although Yelich and Contreras love to test that from time to time)

I just saw a stat that the brewers are 23-5 when Hamilton has a hit.    Anything from bottom of the order and the team might not ever lose a game.

Arnold doesn't exactly have the best track record of trading for relievers at the deadline who actually end up working out.  I'd be hesitant in giving up anything of value for a reliever.

I'm thinking the impact reliever list I'd want to acquire starts and ends with Chapman.  Would be fine giving up value for him down the stretch to bolster the back end of the pen

Again, the trouble with a 6-man rotation is only 7 in the pen. Extra rest for your starters ‘= extra burden on the relievers. Regardless, I do think it’s wise to not overuse Miz in particular.

Crazy to think Cubs traded for Aroldis Chapman ten years ago.

But we will do just that.

It is written.

Agreed.  6 man rotation for now is common sense.  I’m still angry with Pancakes for letting him throw 107 in a meaningless game.

Put Yelich on injured list and let Vaughn dh for awhile.   And bring up a reliever.

Yeah, and there was something else related to that. I don't remember exactly, when he steals a base or scores a run they have only one loss in those games, something like that.

Even with the huge HRs last night & Misiorowski's performance, I'd almost be tempted to call it the David Hamilton game. The huge two-out RBI triple, pressuring the defense into a mistake with the steal & bad throw (certainly wasn't his fault he was stranded at 3rd), and a very strong game defensively.

I'm probably being overly optimistic, but in Yelich's last AB----seeing him actually stay on a breaking ball over the outer part of the zone & driving it to RCF---MAYBE a hot streak comin'?

That doesn't address the issue - you can only have a max of 13 pitchers on the roster.

That’s right.     I forgot about that.   That’s why Bauers is so valuable.   He can pitch and hit
