He was hitting .315 as a lefty against RHP in the minors. Identical .429 OBP to the other side , just with less power. Seems to be a perfectly legitimate switch hitter.

.308 xWOBA vs RHP which is below league average in AAA.

Hot take: For all the criticism Yelich is getting, Contreras deserves as much right now at the plate.

You can probably add Chourio to that list too. He's maybe been slightly better lately but over the past month I'm sure his stats look just as ugly as Yelich and Contreras.

Unlike you I don't think it's out of the realm he made a bad choice. Considering they have zero runs scored who looks more right me or you?

And Lara came up empty in his chance with a RISP tonight...Vaughn has been on base twice....

You're not exactly being proven right. lol

Right now Vaughn needs to be in the lineup. He's been one of the few guys consistently doing something almost every night and most of it has been against right handers lately.

xWOBA alone misses a lot of the things that make Lara valuable.

How did Bauers do? Yelich do good tonight?

I know it doesn't matter but burning your last challenge in a game you are losing 3-0 on the defensive side with 2 outs and nobody on is so dumb. Why is this team so bad with challenges?

He's been calling balls high strikes all night.  There has to be some awareness to that.  Instead they keep accepting those pitches.  Someone on the coaching staff should be making hitters aware, and if they did, the hitters should have been listening better.  Instead they lost challenges outside and low

Here we are arguing about whether Vaughn or Lara should play while our “leadoff hitter” gives us another 0 for 4 with a couple K’s and a couple feeble groundouts,

He got on base and played terrible in right.  Should have played for Yelich, who didnt get on base at DH, instead of Lara in right.

Murph wasn’t swinging a bat, as I recall. I didn’t see the entire game though.

He was indeed not, but Yelich was, and Murph penciled him in at the top as always.

Murph didn't play the best players. That's his job.
