I think the core of this team is as promising as it's ever been and agree with a lot of this. Amazing that this run of baseball has been so good, and it still looks like the window is wide open and staying that way.

Obviously, that's annoying to some folks. They are probably tired of hearing about a future that never seems to arrive. Maybe it won't. Baseball is weird. Honestly, I care more about having a fun March/April-September than I do any part of October, and it's not close (unless we're playing the Cubs or Cardinals).

The one part of this I'd disagree with slightly is that 2027 doesn't feel lost at all to me. If I believed prediction markets had any value, I'd be all over the "will be baseball" next year bet. I think the odds of a full season are completely undervalued. The owners are going to win the PR war, and they are able to absorb the financial losses much easily than a whole lot of the union. Right or wrong (I'd lean toward the latter), it's going to be very, very hard for the union to hold any kind of anti-cap line. Add to that the fact that everyone knows the TV money is a sinking ship for most of the league, and I think you're going to see a deal.

Look at what hitting Mitchell #3 did to him. I don't think there's a lineup that can cure what ails the offense.

I don't think the offense is as bad as the naysayers on this site but I do think they are right that between the offense and pitching, the offense is the much bigger issue when it comes to actually making a playoff run. Especially so if Contreras is done looking like the good hitter he was back in 23 and 24.

I agree as far as the playoffs go, but there isn’t a single guy who can walk through the door and change that.

Guys like Chourio, Turang, Contreras, Mitchell, etc are capable of heating up and having a great offensive stretch. If they do, we can make a deep run. If not, we probably aren’t going anywhere.

they were the one seed last year and they could be the same this year.    Go out there and hit the ******* ball like they are paid too especially the dudes at the top of the order.   There’s the future.     ******* hit it then bat .195 as the ******* number three hitter

trading for skubal doesn’t the change the fact that the  dodgers have a special carve out because they went ******* bankrupt and now they get an extra 66 million a year that should never have until 2039.    No other mlb team can compete with that including the brewers.    SO JUST HIT THE ******* BALL.  THATS IT.  THATS THE DAMN FUTURE.   God

MLB deserves to lose the 2027 season and I won’t complain

Yeah I agree with that. I mean I think ideally you could get a better bad at 3B but that's not really something that appears to be on the market.

As dead as the Brewers looked at the beginning and end of this road trip, even with a day off in the middle, I’m not looking forward to what they’ll look like when they  return to the west coast next week for the last 7 of 17 days in a row. Those games are against significantly better than the Giants and Angels.

But first the Brewers must face 4 games against a Pirates team that can score a lot of runs and has owned the Brewers so far this year. 

If the Cubs go on a winning streak this race could get real close real fast

A lot of the issues imo with the offense is the lineup. If you can't hit guys who aren't hitting anywhere but 1-4 and the guys who are 6-9 then you're not going to get anywhere. You can't be Mr accountable and then turn around and let Yelich and Contreras be godfather into the lineup like they are red hot..

Thank god they played the Yankees and dodgers but might not matter anyways.   If you don’t get a bye in the first round what does it matter if we finish first or second in the division at this point

The Yankees stink right now. You want to talk about bad offense? Since Judge went on the IL they have the second worst wRC+ in MLB and Bellinger just recently got hurt making their offense even worse. Cubs dropping the series against them when the Yankees never scored more than 2 runs in a game is sad. If that happened to the Brewers I can't imagine how people would be talking about our offense.

Luis Garcia for Yelich is the most obvious, biggest 1 for 1 upgrade they could have realistically done for a reasonable cost.

i don't know if it's because of ownership influence or his surgeries, but something about murph just seems "off" to me this year

I don't see how the Brewers could have realistically made that trade. We don't really have a comparable package to the one the Yankees offered. Nationals wanted a heavy pitching package of MLB ready or will be MLB ready next year. The Brewers don't have that. Upper level minor league pitching is the biggest weakness on our farm system.

I usually watch games in the morning and have been fast forwarding through chourio, yelich ,and bill for like over a month now. i hope they all feel like they're "the past" on this team, they deserve it.  so much stupid selfish ball

I have zero confidence we're going anywhere this year. i'll still watch and be happy about taking the division over the cubs
