We need a manager who isn’t chummy with his highest paid former all-star player. No doubt, he should have pinch hit for a poor hitting Yelich there. No backbone whatsoever.

6 inches off the plate and Yelich swings at it

At least he didn't ground into a double play so we were able to clear Contreras too.

Turang, the only guy in the top 4 that is hitting, laying down the sac bunt for Chourio and Yelich was a strategy.

You think you can hurt me? I watch Wisconsin sports. You can't hurt me.

adding a guy like May, when we already have a good playoff starting rotation just wasn't that important.

I dont like the package we gave up but there is certainly no doubt this team got signficantly better for the playoffs.

Been saying for months now that the Brewers (despite the hitting slump) can effectively sit tight on the hitting but must add a key starting pitcher. Thats why my needs response was consistently "skubal". Pitching starters shortens up in the playoffs and we needed a trusted complement to Miz and Harrision, and someone who can eat some innings.

They had bats to reach down into the minors if they needed it but not many bats will move the needle  because we likely lose some on fielding.

Gotta get him into scoring position so the K brothers can swing at sliders 9” out of the zone.

Everyone lambastes everyone else on the team(with good reason), yet Pratt strikes out on a terrible pitch in  big spot and no one says crap. "Oh but he's a rookie so it's acceptable". The hell it is. Not one person has complained about the terrible pitch he swung at.

Somehow Contreras looked even worse than Yelich on his strikeout.

He literally gave up the AB after that called correctly called strike.

This is only the second time May has gone over 100 innings.

Significantly better is a hell of a term to use. I’d say they got better by sheer proccess of removing Sproat from the rotation, maybe that is indeed significant but I don’t trust the bats one bit.

Pratt has actually been a positive contributor since he's been up.  The same can't be said for the other two.
