The way Miz and Harrison have trended in this second half of the season is concerning...

Harrison for sure, but I think Misio set a pace in the first half that was bound for some regression no matter what.

With 19 GS for 111 IP of 39 ERA- | 49 FIP- in the first half he was essentially like a really good Aroldis Chapman season (41 ERA- | 49 FIP- in 2015) or peak Trevor Hoffman (37 ERA- | 48 FIP- in 1998) but for a lil over six innings at a time.

So far in the second half he is at 4 GS for 22 IP of 59 ERA- | 62 FIP-. Not quite as sterling as the 1st Half, more in line with career Chapman (61 ERA- | 57 FIP-) or prime Hoffman (61 ERA- | 62 FIP- from 1996 to 2004).

Couple of more Brewers centric comps for his 2nd half performance would be peak Ben Sheets (62 ERA- | 59 FIP- in 2004) or the first three years of Josh Hader (57 ERA- | 63 FIP- from 2017 to 2019).

Looking at the schedule and I think we're looking at a 20 and 19 finish. 

Not sure where it lands us but likely a couple of games behind the Cubs.

Pitchers like Misiorowski historically have given up HRs from time to time. The key is giving them up w/no one on base, which he's built to do since his walks have been few & far between recently. The LAST thing he needs to do is feel like he needs to go out & pitch a shutout or think he needs to be perfect because the offense is struggling.

I'm also hoping against hope for better decisions from, of all people, the director of these telecasts. I'm old-school, and before the ball is delivered I like to see if the pitcher is varying his pace, aware (or over-aware) of a baserunner, or shaking off the catcher. I also like to see where the catcher is setting up. Instead I get a shot of the pitcher just as he's releasing the pitch (or even slightly after) because I was forced to watch a HR replay from two days ago. Or last night, it was Clayton Kershaw sitting in the stands w/one of his kids.

I'm not even sure if this is an old man rant because I felt the same way years ago.

Cardinals were up 3-0 early on a Joshua Baez homerun (this kid might be a problem for years to come) but then Cubs came right back and tied it up. Must be nice to have an offense that can strike quickly at anytime.

They probably didn’t have any option, but I wonder how the Brewers feel about giving up the last home game against the Braves to play in a minor league park in Williamsport. 

Those games tend to be home run derby like and that leaves the Brewers relatively unarmed. 

Plus, it means one more road trip before heading to New York. At least they get a day off before the start of the series against the Mets that starts the next string of 16 games in 16 days that includes the 2 series against the Cubs.

Unless we get our injured players (Pratt, Uribe) back & several of our regulars snap out of their extended slumps - I think 20-19 is far too generous
