If the Brewers don't win the division I should be banned. However, they will.

Checks standings.

Cubs still not in 1st place

Now it’s time to focus on them.   Having tiebreaker over dodgers is huge in getting a bye

now they have to win the division

Gotta worry about the Braves too. They honestly worry me more then the Cubs right now.

Weird, I could've sworn the season was as good as over on Wednesday and a good chance the division lead would be gone by the end of weekend.

The North Shore Adult Diapers club had a rough weekend.

Only 9 pages... they must be crying in their crying.

They didn’t look like a team on cruise control. They are legitimately struggling.

But then again, take Diaz and his long leash out of the picture and it’s a series split, even without their top pitching.

Great work by the boys though, got back on track.

The Brewers matchup awful against them. Their pen is very lefty loaded  as well and the Brewers are very LH offensively (Mitchell, Turang, Yelich, Bauers)

If we finish behind the cubs we have a 0.0% chance of a bye.   We can still get a bye if we finish behind braves

that’s why today’s game was big

I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.

No need to check the wildcard standings…..until the next loss I’m sure.

You can still check it.    Win or loss.    It’s a free country

This is true, however right or wrong, I'm not worried about the division until it becomes a problem. As of today they win the division(obv. season doesn't end today), so for now, I focus on the 1 or 2 seed. I would have been much more concerned had the lead still only been about 3 or so.

We won. But we're terrible. We have the worst manager in baseball. We're going to lose in the first round of the playoffs. I hope not! Don't hate us truth tellers.

Best record in baseball and five game division lead. I’m feeling pretty good today. I missed Wednesdays IGT but I gotta check it out. I’m sure it is hall of fame worthy.

Robert’s managed thus game like it was a playoff game……sent Skubal back out at 95 pitches for the 6th…….Brewers still won.

Without Turang…….Pratt and Uribe.

Here's a fun comparison

Player A - 144 wRC+, 72 RBI, 3.0 fWAR, 2.87 WPA, 31.85 RE24

Player B - 143 wRC+, 71 RBI, 2.5 fWAR, 2.54 WPA, 27.98 RE24

That's a great series win and an incredible job salvaging the road trip after being swept in San Diego. Came into this 17 in 17 stretch with a 5.5 game lead in the division and exit it with a 5 game lead in the division after going 10-7.

Seconded. And even if the Cubs win tomorrow and pull it down to 4.5, you'll still take that outcome every time.

Plus, the tiebreaker with the Dodgers is nontrivial.

All in all, this team did what they needed to do, despite a poor series in SD. .500 in 10 West Coast road games, 7 of them against playoff contenders, 4 of those against the 2x reigning champs, and 3 of them against the hottest team in the league.

Just a dug in effort from the Crew today. Henderson shoved. Big, two-out hits. Made Skubal work and then kept making pitchers work all afternoon. Added runs to buy Megill another half-game off (he was warming to start the 9th). You love going into an off day with a W.

3 of the next 4 series are against teams in the mediocre to bad range (even though the Rangers and M's are holding onto playoff relevance), so it'd sure be nice to get a little hot streak going. The Braves series will have some weird travel dynamics, but another off day next Monday means we should be plenty rested before another 16 games in a row, including the 7 vs. the Cubs.
