Yeah that was a head scratcher ... even with the rule explanation attempt. I would get it if he veered towards Bauers once the throw was in bound ... but I feel like he actually moved back to his right while running and got into the baseline enough.

Even with reverse splits for the pitcher you have a guy that hits left-handers at .350 + clip and has been hitting it almost .400 for the last week and you bench him. 

Makes no sense.
