Sproat has never had any success in MLB to know that he can. It’s all hope and projection. Some said at the beginning of the season that we would need Sproat at some point — we didn’t, thank goodness. 

Could he still figure it out? Sure. Is it more likely that he’s just going to be one of the many names that MLB is littered with who had the tools but never amounted to anything? Yes, 

Couldn’t you literally say this about any prospect? Sproat was a top 100 prospect coming into the season

Yet you were all bent in shape about the May/Romero trade trading two prospects who had zero mlb success so far. Wouldn’t they also be “hope and projection”?

The only thing stopping Uribe from being an elite closer is what's between his ears. Hopefully as he matures that will be taken care of.

I never made the big time but we had a pretty good HS choir. We even traveled once to perform in a foreign land---St Louis.

Strawman argument. 🙄 yes, I hated the May trade. Yes, Frias and Ragsdale are “hope and projection” right now. That doesn’t mean I want to trade every guy with hope and projection on his side for 2 months of a guy with a 4.10 career ERA.

I'm not mad about how things went down in the ninth... honestly I'm sad for Sproat. It's like getting the shanks on the golf course. Your head is all over the place trying to fix it and it's really hard to get back on track. 

The kid clearly cares. Hopefully they can get him straightened out next spring. There's talent there.

Similarly for the September additions, Naylor has played one game (and stunk).  Could we not get more usage out of Lockridge, or anyone else?

That said, we're now complaining about the 27th and 28th roster spots after a sweep.  I love when that's the top of the list of things to complain about.

Naylor's clear utility to this roster is that he allows you to play both Contreras and Sanchez and then substitute for them late in games if needed. 

That matters more than anything Brandon Lockridge could realistically provide.

I never attended St. Norbert.  The Chorale is fuĺl of adults who want to be able to sing in a large ensemble with orchestra.
