Phillys definitely could be the sleeper team. I they've got enough offense and with Wheeler and Nola they've got some pitching.

I can’t say enough how much bigger the difference is between the 2 and 3, than the 2 and 1. I am not going to lose sleep if we drop to the 2. The 2 still gets a bye. The NLDS matchups are no real advantage to either. The difference between a 2 and 1 seed is the home field advantage of one hypothetical Game 7 in one NLCS series. 

If we can get just get to that game, I’ll take my chances no matter where it is. Last time we had one of those it was in Milwaukee and it did not go our way. 

Agree, baseball doesn't really have a 6 seed system, as much as they've got a 2 tier system.

Yeah I mean— with respect to Yelich and his career — here now, in 2026, Andrew Vaughn is clearly the better hitter and it’s not close.

Yeah, I don't think so. You can weight those things differently, but career numbers should matter. It's the larger sample size. You want to skew heavily toward recent results, okay, but...

Feels like Murphy is trying to show absolutely nothing to any potential playoff opponent. 

I think maybe there are some lessons learned from last year when the regular season did not mean much.

• Fought back against a playoff quality starting pitcher (scoring our way without a HR)
• Gordon showed a whole lot for his first outing with the team
• Racked up some pitches and scored against their stud closer

I checked their batting average earlier and Vaughn is .300ish and Yeli is .230- something.

If this game really mattered to Murphy, he would have pulled Gordon.  The fact the Brewers got that run in the 9th would have set Megill up or save 30.  WOULDA COULDA SHOULDA.  sigh.........

C'mon man, what Yelich did in 2019 or 2025 really doesn't matter.  He has not shown to be a player we can rely on in the here and now.  He's had a stinky, crappy, horrible season, and thinking his previous history, when he actually provided offense to this team, will suddenly rear up and make him great again is pretty crazy.

He's not THE guy anymore, not even close...

Again not a big deal but Murph is clearly just friggin around with these games…….if winning was a priority he never would have run Gordon out there for a 5th inning in a tie game…’with a rested bullpen……no matter how he had pitched in the previous 4 which certainly was impressive.

Ok - Going to watch Biloxi now.

Just saw the Rays lost the first game of the DH to the Yankees and lead the 2nd.  So that magic # is down to 3.  And the Reds shutting out the Braves 4-0 in the 8th.  Could be a bye clinch in short while.
