Meh. Speed is cool and his defense is fine…but a guy entering arbitration? The allure quickly dwindles.

Works decent on this team, but I doubt I ever care if they move on from him for someone else.

Sure. I wasn't even thinking about past this year. Just some recognition due I thought for a guy who has contributed a lot more than I expected

How about that Hamilton! Murphy’s post game comments about having him bunt early in order to get good pitches to swing at later was great to hear

That was interesting to hear, but by sharing that information now, the strategy goes out the window for the World Series. Murph obviously knows that. 4D chess, probably.

He produced during the playoffs and there are plenty of high priced free agent signing and trade acquisitions that have not over the years so have to give him credit for that. Glad that Murphy recognizes that Hamilton still needs to improve his bunting and if Hamilton works at it he should have a few more quality seasons with the Brewers or another team.

So did I!  As he walked to the plate, I turned to my wife and said, “Hammy needs to pop one in the seats here.  That would be the most Brewer-ish thing ever with this team.”

Sure enough, he popped one and in between screams and cheers, we both looked at each like “holy —— you called it!”

Hamilton is a high end utility IF, he could be a starting 2B on many teams (probably would be a good starting 3B a bunch of places as well). I would think he could be a guy who could be a 4-5 WAR everyday player especially with more consistent playing time specifically at 2B. Defensively he has been great at 3B and he usually graded out better at 2B if my memory serves me right. I think he is a perfect Murphy style player and he has been spectacular in the playoffs.
