Is it crazy to say that Gasser has been the best SP thus far in the postseason?

Nope.

Me on page 3:

"I'm hoping Gasser is the unsung hero he has the definite potential to be."

He's just excellent isn't he? 🤩

Well... you can still make it... 😉

I live in San Diego, it’s a 3 hour drive. The only thing stopping me is that my wife has to work late tomorrow so I have to deal with childcare.

If we lose tomorrow I’m going to try to convince my dad to fly from Milwaukee to LA on Friday morning

Yup agreed but he’s been almost perfect this post season so far imo

Yes, but this decision tonight could have messed everything up.

What a somber interview...

This is almost unfair to the Brewers players being interviewed.  Imagine the difference in tone this interview takes if they are interviewing Freddie Freeman or Mookie Betts.

They smile and laugh, but they’re choking inside. They whored themselves out to the BIG MLB Establishment

I was nervous up until the final out. We're so close now that every out is huge. This is far, far from over (I suspect Jeter noted it to Bauers during their little chat after the postgame), but now the Dodgers really have to scramble tomorrow. Thoughts:

1) This team bailed out Murph tonight. Letting Abner pitch to 5 guys was dumb. He K'd Muncy, but it was obvious he had nothing. No command. No ability to hit edges. I get that it was tough to bring in Hall to face a righty, but then he should have had double-barrel bullpen action with Patrick. Look, Murphy has had a fantastic postseason, but he's gotta wear that one because there's no excuse for it.

2) Our defense was outstanding tonight, especially in the outfield. Good positioning, clean on every play, and the one screw-up was salvaged by Chourio.

3) Gasser and Hall were awesome, but give some credit to Megill too. 4-out saves are tough, even with a 3-run lead. He didn't even have to sweat, except maybe for the Betts AB. Those three guys shut them down again, and Ashby has now had two days without having to throw game pitches. He's probably good for 4 and 5 if necessary. That's huge.

4) Even so, I think Patrick and/or Drohan are going to have to get some outs tomorrow. You can't just keep throwing the top three guys, and definitely not with a 3-0 series lead. I wouldn't trust Harrison. But those other two are going to have to do something.

5) Nothing you can even say about the Bauers and Mitchell ABs. Especially Jake's. Like Mitchell said postgame, it speaks for itself.

6) I liked our aggressiveness on the bases. Yelich had Snell read and was going on the high leg kicks and not on the slide steps. Pratt got double off, but nothing you can do there. That was great, and I think Yelich impacted Snell.

7) Playoff baseball changes a ton and on little moments. Bauers AB changed tonight. DL Hall changed tonight. Will Smith hitting one two-thirds up the wall instead of over the wall (great play of the carom by Jackson) changed tonight. Keep the pressure on them early tomorrow. Just like in San Diego, you have to make the Dodgers pay a tax if they do win. Tempt them to use Skubal if you can. Keep it close, keep taking pitches, keep drawing walks.

If we just keep on being ourselves, we're going to be alright. Let's celebrate in another clubhouse tomorrow.

Do we dare with the Kyle Harrison experience up 3-0?

Not a bad option tbh especially with Dodgers loaded LH

I would not pitch Miz Friday if it even goes that far

I would pitch him on Friday with the idea that he could be available in relief if the Brewers go Fever Pitch and let the series go seven games. Venice.

I'm fine with it. He gave you what you needed and he was starting to leave the ball up. They hit the ball hard and the 3rd time through?

I would go to the pen as well. But you REALLY need to hold the Dodgers. This becomes so much bigger throwing the A-Pen again.

Ok.

All good.

I assume it's a blister.  I watched the game at a bar and never heard anything, but he had a band-aid on his left ring finger.

Next one will probably be 17-0.

I'll just be looking at the scheduled WS days and seeing who will start what game and when!

Misiorowski vs Gavin Williams, Logan Henderson vs Freddy Peralta? Which one is it?

But... first, foot... on the Dodgers throats!

I'd start Drohan over Harrison tomorrow to get through the lefties once. Then bring in May out of the pen, which he was successful at on Monday. Tell him to empty the tank with those 100 MPH fastballs he's been throwing lately and let the rest of the pen take it from there once he tires and/or runs into adversity.

Watch their faces carefully.  Their mouth forms a smile but not their eyes.

Are you expecting the Rays and Guardians to combine rosters after the ALCS?

Could not agree more.  It's been surprising that he hasn't gotten into a game yet.  I really didn't think after seven postseason games we'd still have three unused pitchers.

I agree it was unfortunate for Murph to let Abner pitch to Will Smith. Murph explained that he wanted Abner for the R-R matchup, and regardless of what happened, that was Abner's last batter because he was struggling to throw strikes.

This decision will provide an incredible opportunity for people to criticize Murphy and demonstrate their superior baseball acumen to the 2X NL Manager of the Year, who has somehow steered the team to 3-0 advantage over a the two-time World Series champions.

Yeah, it's kind of crazy.

I think Drohan in particular has just fallen victim to our insane LH relief depth. He's been tremendous as a reliever and thus he gets the start for me tomorrow, followed by May.

I mean, it was a horrible decision that had little logic. In retrospect it proved to look even worse.

Murphy is a great manager, he wasn’t thinking there.
