I don't see a Pat Murphy coached team choking away a three game lead. Have a nice night

It’s not like you’re gonna start Miz in 5 and 7. You got one start left with him tops. If you really couldn’t throw him tomorrow after an inning tonight then he goes in 6. It’s just insane you didn’t trot him out to close it out.

You start him in 5, he gets the travel day and game 6 off, he comes out of the pen in 7 if necessary.

I still cannot believe we had a chance to finish the championship season with a 1 run lead in extras and Murphy handed the ball to Shane freaking Drohan.

It’s crazy because Murphy in game 4 vs LA used Ashby for the kill shot. No idea why he didn’t today

Would have been fine if Murphy just used Miz

He probably would've if this was a 6th or 7th game. I see where some are bringing that up on here, but I wouldn't have done it. To me that's one of those things that isn't a no-brainer either way. You're hedging against maybe needing a starter for tomorrow, and that gets screwed up if he gives up a run---which we all know isn't likely, but not impossible. Worst-case scenario you're up 3-1 & you have him ready to go Wednesday.

I can see the argument, but up 3-0 I'd save him for his start.

Yeah, the error didn't matter. Murph was going to Drohan regardless of what happened after the Caminero at bat. The game was lost when I saw Drohan warming in the pen.

Joey Ortiz BAD THROW. Perhaps it all goes way differently.  Whatever.  3-1 lead and Miz tomorrow.  Gotta think the guys are just as pissed as we are right now

You have 3 outs though. If my choice is Miz for one inning facing 100+ mph heat against a team who couldn’t hit the ball hard all night im taking my chance and hoping there’s not a game 5. He played for tomorrow when you were 3 outs away and used all the top guys

I don’t think one poster has predicted a series loss.

Miz should get the ball tomorrow, and let him go as long as he's effective - let the Rays scramble drill a bullpen game and put it to them early and often.

This is it for him, barring a game 7 & a BP appearance. So yeah, the wraps should be off as long as he's good.

All, lets say before the series starts you are guaranteed a 3-1 start? Would you take it? Not every choice is going to turn up gold.

Stop whining and move on. Is our fan base a bunch of 16 year olds?

On the bright side, if there was a game that was going to be lost this series, it was game four, No real faith in a bullpen game. The bad news is we lost it in extra innings. I'd have rather been blown out if it would've saved some arms.

Yeah like I said, I can see both sides. I just lean towards no, being up 3-0 is the key for me.

Would have rolled with Senzatela after the error. Drohan is just completely cooked.

I also really question the rostering of Woodruff. I don’t know how you can justify rostering a guy that is completely off limits today after pitching only one inning yesterday.

The use of Woodruff threw me off. I figured he was there for a real purpose but using him in a 10-0 game and then seeing him surrender a run made me question why he was used in favor of Patrick. Prior to the series, I wouldn't have taken Patrick off the roster anyway. If I'm being honest, it's May and then Drohan, but if they believe May is the best choice to start, to me the worst option was easily Drohan.

When it became clear that Woodruff wasn't a serious pitcher, definitely scratched my head a bit.

I'd trust May all day long over Drohan.

It wouldn't have gone differently. You were asking Drohan to get you two outs for the championship. The game was lost the moment Murphy made the pitching change.

3-1 series lead, they’re in good shape and oddly I rather them win in Milwaukee anyways

I just recall off the top of my head that Vaughn would have a couple hundred innings at 3B this year if you were calling the shots, yes.
