WOW!! Mid-June who would have expected Jenks to have this kind of season!!??

I've always defended him, but even I was having serious doubts whether he was going to be "dead money" for 3 years.

Let's get some more!!

Did Chipper Jones look shocked when the ump didn't call that strike 3 the first time? Everyone is leaving the field...wait...that wasn't a strike? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eek.gif

I can't watch the game down here, so somebody tell me how Helling looks. 1 run through 3 innings is better than expected. Oh yeah, nevermind, as I type this he walks a guy and gives up a double. I was gonna ask whether he looked good or lucky thus far.

That was really an impressive AB from Hall considering how silly he looked on that slider the last time up. Great HR.

Helling hasn't looked good, only lucky. Lots of pitches per batter, and he's gotten a bunch of very hard-hit outs. Jenkins just missed that "double" - he short-armed the ball and missed it by about a foot when he could have easily caught it.

Entertaining game so far. Crowd is a little quiet.

Edit: And it looks like Yost agrees with me about Helling. He hasn't been able to find the strike zone all night. Let's see how Santos handles it for 1-2 innings. I'll be interested to see what his velocity is like. This also means that Santos won't start in place of Sheets next time around, or so it seems.

Why bring in Santos-the pitchers spot is up second next inning.

To get him a little bit of work but not too much before starting on Wednesday or Thursday?

It is one thing to not be able to throw a few strikes over a 5-6 inning outing, but Vic needed to throw about 5-6 more than he did in one inning tonight, and that's just not getting it done. If he doesn't pick it up real soon, there's no way the Brewers keep him on the 40-man this offseason. Right now his greatest value to the team is as a reliever and he's 0-1 since being given that job.

Anyone else a little worried, especially since Lehr might not make it to the park in time?
