Kind of nice to out score the Pirates so big over two games after all the problems we've had with them. Feels good to start off like this.
-I used to have a neat-o signature, but it got erased.

We gonna put up 9-10 runs every game? POTENT LINEUP!!!

On another note...good to see Damian Miller have a good game today too (he got lost in all the 3TO hype on this board today). He and Doug should combine for quite a few W's this year.

Or perhaps because it was a smart idea to rest Brady with a 7-run lead since he's still hurting from getting hit in the foot?

Or perhaps Yost appreciates Magruder's crappy play in center? Or he likes errors?

Edit: And if the game is so far out of reach, why not play Hall in CF?

Whatever you say. Are you seriously suggesting that he was wrong to pull Brady in this situation?

I don't get the criticism for this move, though, as there's no way that resting Brady wasn't the proper move.

Whatever you say.

Thank you.

Are you seriously suggesting that he was wrong to pull Brady in this situation?

Seriously. With a day off tomorrow, the benefits of playing Clark far outweighed the benefits of shlepping Magruder out there. If Clark's injury were that serious, he wouldn't have been playing at all. Seriously.

No, no way in the world. Heh.

Toby,

Would you have batted Clark and then put the pitcher in the two spot for Spivey?

But why risk worsening the injury with a seven run lead? He had x-rays and its probably sore as hell. Its simply good managing to take him out of the game there.

No, no way in the world. Heh.

Nope, no way.

Like Terek said, I can't believe this is an issue. Its simply smart managing.

As any good freshmen basketball coach knows ya gotta show the bench some love in a blow out.

If the Brewers would have blown that one with Magruder in there, then we got bigger problems then our 4th outfielder.

Enjoy the win give some Magruder some love. I am sure this won't be his only PH or CF appearance all year. Might want to get him in there before he is forced to play in CF when the game is on the line.

I would have just pinch-hit for the pitcher and left it at that. Clark anywhere in the lineup is better than Magruder anywhere in the lineup (or in the field for that matter). His error out there could have cost the Brewers a lot of runs.
Posted
And if you're so worried about getting Clark that much-needed 40 minutes of rest, why not put Hall in instead? If 7 run leads never dissappear, you might as well get Billy some time in the outfield.

I gots no problem with putting Magruder in, but it would have been a fine opportunity to give Billy Hall some time in center (if that's still part of the plan, that is). I have a feeling he's going to be a Podsednik-style adventurer out there so it's important to find him some garbage time so that his mishaps don't hurt the team.

Who cares, though? BREWERS WIN!

Go cry into your pillows, Bucs.
