Mulder might not have to remember how to pitch. He's left handed. If the Cards started a left-handed monkey they'd have a good chance at beating the Cubs. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

A 4-0 lead for the Cubs might as well be 40-0 against the Cards. Ugh. Oh well...take care of Houston tomorrow and hope the Reds beat up on the Cubs.

That'd be the Astros who are ahead of Pittsburgh 11-1 at present. http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/indifferent.gif

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Cards leave the bases loaded in the bottom of the 6th inning. Spiezio hacks at a couple horrible pitches before grounding out to Lee to end the inning. Bummer.

Well, bases are juiced for Jim Edmonds v. Carlos Marmol, two outs.

Marmol was put in to put out a fire (man on second) for Marquis, then gave up a hit and two straight walks. The Cubs board is flipping out over their golden boy.

Congratulations, Mark Mulder. You just gave up a 3-run HR to Matt Murton. Uggh, the Cardinals are inept.

the thing that bugged me most with this HR was the fact that the pitch was junk again. If it's not Soriano hitting HR's on pitches at his shoe tops, it's guys like Murton hitting them out when the balls up at the shoulders!

I think they've had enough good luck for the season!

The Cardinals are done. There 7 games back, they wont recover from the Chicago series. I'm rooting for Cincinnati to end the Cub's winning ways.

The Taguchi AB confused me a little. The Cubs announcers even thought it would be Duncan. Maybe LaRussa likes the Cubs better than us. Or maybe he was saving him for extras, a la the ASG.

LaRussa'd?

Did not know that, thanks. Last time I trust a Cubs announcer I guess. Anyways...on to my favorite line of the day...

Top 7th: Pittsburgh

- C. Maldonado homered to deep left

I'm calling him Candy. I don't care if his name is actually Carlos.

EDIT: Duncan has a sports hernia, which basically means he hurt a muscle (no, not that one) near his man-place. The reason the Cubs' announcers mentioned him is that he was brought in to pinch-hit yesterday, even though it wasn't expected that he'd be available.
