Awesome. It looks like its over in Chicago and we're in the process of blowing this.

Well, Dunn just caught a call that was ruled a trap and a runner scores. Ouch.

Wouldn't have mattered, anyway. Theriot still would've scored and the Cubs would still have a runner on first with two outs.

But Shouse could have thrown one pitch to Lo, and then you bring in the righty. Sounds like micro-micro-managing, but Ned has the roster size of a football team at his disposal. Honesttogod, even Aquino against a righty hitter beats Shouse against a righty.

By the way, nice walk, Prince! Go Corey!

Now would be a good time for the old "player makes a great play in the field and then hits a homer the next half inning."

He would have scored regardless, he tagged up on the replay. Runner out at 2nd so net-net is exactly the same as if he caught the fly out. Runner on 1st with one out.

What he said.

If we're playing the sac bunt, dare I say don't you also pinch run for Fielder? EDIT: I should say I disagree with the sac strategy there, but if your going to do it, don't you do it all out?

and braun is out of the game... and he may have been able the make the throw weakling counsell couldnt make to first...

Or he would have thrown it into the first row. You could argue either way there because there is no doubt Braun has a better arm then Counsell.

I'm checking myself into a mental institution if they lose this game. They must will themselves to a victory somehow. Please Ned, use your dang bench next time you need a big hit, because neither Gross nor Estrada is the guy I want swinging away right there.

Linebrink was pulled for Shouse. Cooper lifted Scott for Loretta. Shouse has to face Loretta. Cooper understands the rule, Yost never seems to grasp it.

No, Yost just thinks Shouse is a great reliever. The same thing happened last year... until Shouse blew up.

Not in this case but when Yost pinch hits with say Jenkins and the other team brings in a lefty specialist Yost will never pull Jenkins to get Mench the AB.

its incredibly annoying when you manager takes the bat out of the hands of one of your best hitters

Agreed. Especially when you consider the chances of Hart getting doubled up. So he's not likely to get doubled up so lets say he grounds into a fielder's choice, worst thing that happens is you try to steal to get to 2nd with 1 out (likely considering Ausmus was behind the plate.)
