When that damn chipmunk in the trailer goes "bowchickawowwow," I feel like throwing the remote through the big screen. I will see your 50 and raise you 50.

Continuing my musical leanings in this thread...

Release your album already, Portishead! We've already been put off by Massive Attack for the umpteenth time - be better than them! There are many thousands, if not millions, of people awaiting this album.

Also, Halou is the best band no one has heard of.

Because of the stupid writer's strike blocking my access to The Office, I watched Evan Almighty and Licensed to Wed, and pretended the actors were playing their Office characters. "Hey, this is the extended episode where Jim marries Mandy Moore".

Buy You a Drank is my favorite "I like it because it's ridiculous" song right now.

I saw NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN this afternoon. Without getting into detailed spoilers, I just love the fact that the Coens purposefully pulled the rug out from under the standard narrative that was forming and the movie turned into something other than what I was expecting. After considering the ending for awhile, which threw me for a loop at first, I've decided that the non-traditional ending they chose is exactly right and has kept me thinking about the movie more than a standard ending would have.

you can avoid the fee if you dial 800-FREE-411 instead of just the usual 411. same service and everything, you're just using a toll-free route to get there.

Yes. Terrible, and not sweet.

coming from the north (i'm in NC now), i'm thinking you have to grow up with it in order to build an appreciation for it. brewing it is like a science down here, and everyone's addicted to it. i don't get it. But on the bright side everyone down here tries their darndest to get me to like it that it makes for a good ice-breaker. grits, though, i think everyone generally despises.

That song is beyond terrible. "Songs that make your ears bleed" thread bad.

I'm watching MNF with the sound down.

They keep showing vick clips and people wearing vick gear.

I've got no love for anyone who screws up then says I screwed up but people love me so give me another chance; then smokes pot and lies to the feds.

I wouldn't be caught dead outside in his gear let alone be seen on tv wearing it

I believe it did make a much-deserved appearance somewhere in that thread.

I was surprised to see that McDonald's is now selling sweet tea. I don't mind sweet tea, I'd just rather have Dr. Pepper.

At work today, I received some returned hardware with the following sticky-note attached:

I had a sliver jammed in my thumb about the size of half a toothpick. I got it out after some serious digging. That hurt.

Today's Milwaukee Journal Sentinel gave me a chuckle. I don't know why I found it funny, but the placement of the headlines was just kinda, you know, odd. Funny.

Top of the Metro Section:

Crack sentences to shrink

Bottom headline:

Brookfield Pastor charges with possessing crack.

When removing my boots at work this morning, I realized one of them has a crack (not the kind referred to in the Journal Sentinel).

It's holding together with duct tape but I think it's the beginning of the end for them.

I'm bummed about having to find new boots. This was such a good pair, and a nice neutral black too. So many women's boots are in stupid girly colors like powder blue or mauve.

Toby hates Jazz

It's given him nothing but Shattered Dreams.

very clever...

don't you hate it when you make a lol funny statement regarding musical lyrics and no one even gives you the well deserved pat on the back that you deserve?

well, here is your pat...

my shoes have a crack in them so i just slipped in a pair of insoles and now they're comfortable again.

not to have my post be without pointless and random comments in this thread (ok, so all my posts are): but when an ant gets blown off your car, does it search for its way back to the colony or does it just strike out on its own and make a new life for itself?

I find no unbelievable beauty in a butterfly, as the colour and design of their wings are balanced out by the still-ugly bug in between.

I would like to visit Vilnius, Estonia some day, and only because Shawn Connery talked about it a few times in Hunt for Red October.

The crack is above the toe, so an insole won't solve it (though the duct tape has held up so far).

It wouldn't be noticeable if Madison hadn't gotten 21+ inches of snow in the last 12 days. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif

Plus the boots are almost 7 years old (remember December 2000, when Madison had 35" of snow? That's when I got them), so I've gotten my money's worth out of them. I'm just dismayed by all the pastel colors in otherwise practical women's boots.
