Dusty Baker to Reds

Given the right makeup of a team I think Dusty could be a very good manager. He did well in SF with a veteran team. The Reds do not have that type of team. The Mets or Yanks would have been better.
There needs to be a King Thames version of the bible.

7-11-08 - Krivsky trades minor-league phenom Jay Bruce to San Francisco for Pedro Feliz. With Feliz at third until Gonzalez recovers, Lemke returns to second.

Just to be sure... That striped bass fishing quote is a fake quote, correct?

No. It's real.

Which is why it's soooo delicious. http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/smokin.gif

Quick, somebody find a way to get Jeff Suppan to waive his no-trade clause and ship him with Gwynn Jr. to Cincy for a big package of prospects. They'd be great Dusty players: rubber-armed and speedy.

I like your thinking. Homer Bailey, Jay Bruce and Joey Votto do it for me. For a second I thought I was getting greedy but then I remembered that Krivsky is their GM so I named their top 3 prospects.http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/happy.gif

I'm sure for a three year extension he'll agree!

Rats, I just accidentally posted an Insider piece, sorry, I didn't catch that.

Oh well, I'll share my favorite part, from a Cubs fan -

"As a Cub fan, I am extatic about the Reds hiring Baker. May he manage there forever."

If he doesn't manage there forever, may he manage in St. Louis, Houston, or Milwaukee.

And if he manages in Milwaukee, may Ned Yost manage one of the other two teams.

Why does it seem like the Reds are making all the opposite moves of what they should be doing at this point? Signing a manager like Dusty Baker, apparently going to keep Dunn and Griffey, etc. I mean, it's great for the Brewers, but it just seems like they're becoming like the Giants of this year: "Come see our veteran star hit a bunch of dingers as he goes towards a personal record!"

Maybe the Reds are deciding to do the opposite of what they think is the right thing to do...then it will work out. Seinfeld episode?

Sorry to bump this back up to the top again after its moment had passed, but I just saw this now and had to comment. I cannot believe that is a real quote. This simple fact made my entire day. I was sure that was made up by some Cubs fan. Ha!
