Awesome! The Nats can in fact get worse!

Enjoy watching John ground into a double play, while running in quick sand with a piano on his back Nats fan!

Isn't this the equivalent of telling your fans, "hey, we're not serious about competing this year"?

just as long as you don't trade doug davis and dana eveland for the guy, then i guess it is.

Pretty good deal for his spot in the line-up. The nats one-upped the league, pulling a FA five hitter for 1.25. Fire Doug!

Isn't he wearing cinderblocks for shoes too?

That trade sucked because we lost Davis, I could care less that we traded Eveland. But I am happy for Estrada, he is now going to a place with absolutely no expectations of being a contender so his laziness will go largely un noticed.

Well, no doubt it is proof that not all trades work out. Losing Davis really did hurt as we could've gotten more for him obviously.

Fondy: that was just hilarious (largely unnoticed--BRAVO!)

Davis wasn't exactly a good pitcher last year, an argument could be made that he would have been worse than Vargas with our bullpen/defense behind him.

I don't think the Nats fans will see this too often. Someone needs to get on base for Johnny to hit into a double play.

I totally can see that Ennder, but could Davis plausibly be worse than Estrada?

I mean, could we have traded Davis for say, the back up in Cleveland, guy's name is escaping me. And wouldn't we have been better off?

Posted

yeah I'd rather have Shoppach.

I do think Estrada is better than he played last year when fully healthy. I'm glad he isn't on our team again but I doubt he is as miserable at the plate as he was in the 2nd half last year.

Davis posted a WHIP that was worse than Vargas or Suppan, neither of whom would be Brewers had they kept Davis. It's amazing he had as good a year as he did. Ennder is probably right that he benefitted from better defense. Of course it could well be argued that Davis at $22 million is better value than Suppan for $42 million.

But there was no guarantee Davis would have re-signed with the Brewers.

Davis was pretty much demanding a 3 year extension before the start of last year.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

So now the Nationals have Elijah Dukes, Lastings Milledge, Paul Lo Duca, and Johnny Estrada? Should provide for more entertainment off the field than the Nationals will probably be on the field.

That's a big whoop-de-doo followed by a large yawn...repeatedly. Come on! This guy is on his 4th team in 3 years, let alone his 3rd team in the last 4 months! It's obvious the guy has personality issue. Good riddance to not a whole lot.
