  1. Is Trevor Bauer a Boras client? Both guys would be of the same caliber of controversy...
  2. Well, we do have a Cubs fan writing Brewer pieces on this website, soooo...
  3. ZuZu Petals is the name of a character in the Andrew Dice Clay flick "Ford Fairlane"
  4. Is that an obscure Ford Fairlane, Andrew Dice Clay Classic reference?
  5. No, nope, negative, no way...Let the kid play!
  6. Why on earth didn't we give him a call? Not like we don't need starting pitching, and he fits the bill for an aging veteran presence. I'm not a big fan of his, and I know our track record with old Cardinals starters, but it seems like this is a rock we should have overturned...
  7. Again, it doesn't work that way and won't...
  8. It doesn't work that way...
  9. I walked past Stephen Pearcy (RATT lead singer) at the Denver Airport on Wednesday. I saw him coming, and thought it was him, and the closer he got the more I knew it was definitely him. He was alone, and I so much wanted to go up to him and just tell him how much I have appreciated his music and still do. I have no clue if he is fan friendly though, so I let him be and just chalked it up to a pretty cool moment.
  10. well, here's your chance. It's kind of gross that we now have to watch Devin pitch against us, on opening day, at Yankee stadium...
  11. I'm disappointed we have to watch opening day on ESPN. If Rock wasn't there, it would be unwatchable. ESPN has become total trash. I like my opening days to be broadcast by our homers.
  12. @BrewersRice Curious why you gave me the thumbs down... Are you against Capra getting a chance? Do you think Monesterio is going to be better?
  13. I'm good with Capra making this team out of spring training... Don't care to see Monesterio any longer. We know what we get with him, Capra just might be our answer!
  14. We just might be one of those teams now...Glad we kept Civale...Odds of him being moved now are less than 0%.
  15. Latest News Mar 11, 2025 11:32 AM EDT Smith struck out five batters and walked none while allowing one hit over three innings in his Cactus League start against the Dodgers on Saturday. Analysis The first pick of the 2024 Rule 5 draft, Smith was left unprotected by Milwaukee but has impressed thus far in White Sox camp. The 24-year-old righty averaged 96.8 mph on his four-seam fastball (touching 98.4 mph) and threw the pitch 55 percent of the time Saturday. He mixed in his three secondary offerings, but it was Smith's fastball that shut down a stacked Dodgers lineup, including two Ks against Shohei Ohtani plus one apiece against Freddie Freeman and Will Smith. With Drew Thorpe (elbow) likely to open the year on the shelf, Smith could win the final spot in Chicago's rotation. He has certainly pitched well enough this spring (nine Ks, 0.75 WHIP in 6.2 innings) that the White Sox won't be returning Smith to the Brewers.
  16. Looks like guys are still being shuttled from one team to the next kind of randomly still. How soon before we actually know who will be playing where to start the season?
  17. Dude, I'm a Wilken fan, but that statement is just plain WOW!
  18. I comish 4 leagues, and the only way anyone can give you accurate advice is to know your scoring system. Roto, points, H2H, etc. All scoring systems are different and provide different strategies for sure... If you are playing in an established league with established members, it will be tough being the new guy if you have zero experience. There are so many ins and outs to fantasy baseball. Go into the year as strictly a learning year and you should be able to enjoy it. Pay attention to what others do and why they do it. Fantasy baseball is a blast, but you really have to be willing to put some time in to have success. You MUST check into your team daily to see what is going on with waivers, drops, trades, etc. If you plan to check in every few days, you are already sunk. I too did fantasy football for years and years, but when my interest in the NFL took a dive a few years ago, so did my interest in fantasy football. Dropped out and haven't missed it at all. There is no way I could ever stop fantasy baseball though, just absolutely freaking love it! I probably spend an hour a day on my teams, or more, without fail.
  19. Wait, so the college crowd is into Nelly, who probably peaked 20 years ago before most were even born? Dude is 50+ years old playing hip-hop to college crowds? As far as Shaq as a DJ goes, I actually laughed at loud at the thought. Talk about a guy getting by on his name. I just don't see either being big draws, especially to college crowds. People in their 40's, maybe... The people who were listening to Nelly when he had his 15 minutes are now probably in their late 30's to late 40's. Those are the people I'd expect to have interst seeing him for nostalgia purposes. I have no clue who would be interested in watching a retired NBA superstar dropping beats and scratching nonsense. Talk about a novelty... I admit, I am completely out of touch with this type of music scene, so it is what it is I guess.
  20. This topic has been covered in at least two other threads. I feel it was a mistake to let him go, but time will tell. It just made no sense at the time.
