  1. Remember how many were predicting that the Cub fanbase would not care for Counsell's style? Well, props to you guys!
  2. 🤣 Usually one of the cats will try to stand in front of the tv. If he isn't there, he is likely hiding because storms are coming. So the cat will be the inverse of what is on TV.

  4. Being at 10 men for most of the game was quite disappointing against Panama. I'm not sure what got Weah so worked up that he would cold cock the defender away from the play. Maybe they don't have as many cameras at Juventus and thought he would get away with it. I guess there might have been a racist comment? Not sure. The collision with Turner should have had, at least, a yellow for Panama. They have their work cut out for them against Uruguay. I'm pulling for Bolivia for sure against Panama.
  5. Tkachuk is a bit of a goon. Nurse outgooned him during the Stanley Cup, though... 😉
  6. It was a great game.
  7. You mean like Rukeem Stroud? 😉
  8. I really haven't paid attention to the new "Bat Signal" until now. It is pretty cool. ... and then they get ...
  9. I looked at my Shareholder packet and noticed a Green Bay News Anchor is being nominated to be a director. Any idea why he is being nominated?
  10. For some reason, Black reminds me of Jim Slaton from the 70's. Maybe a litle Joey Votto, too... 😉 While with the Mudhens, Hiura's K rate was 32%. Since being released and picked up by the Angels organization, his K rate is worse. It is 34% with Salt Lake. Hiura seems like a nice guy. I'm not sure what happened during the pandemic, but it seems like he is either incapable of making the change, is not willing to make a change, or nobody is showing him how to make the change. Turang realized something needed to change and, on his own, took the initiative to get better. I believe Black will be much better with time. It is early.
  11. It seems like they are back to trying to pull everything.
  12. Tom Wachs: better play by play than the Fox guys. sorry…. Couldn’t come up with anything better.
  13. Funny how AJ says one at bat can change an inning. How about a crappy call by the umpire?
  14. The same thing will happen with Hoskins.
  15. Nothing like keeping a weak slider middle middle… again
  16. Oh yeah... the strike. Mrs. Samurai and I (relatively newly married) had scheduled a week-long trip to Colorado. We had tickets to the front row down the line in Mile High to see a Rockies game. The week before we left, they went on strike. Sigh...
  17. I recall many years ago when Boston finished last in their division. Peter Gammons (Red Sox Apologist) got on ESPN and said something to the effect of: "I still think they are the best team in the AL East." That sealed it for me. The Yankees are up there simply because of the rivalry from the late 70's and early 80's. Not to the same frustration I have for the Red Sox.
  18. https://www.mlb.com/brewers/video/joel-payamps-in-play-out-s-to-elvis-andrus-q4hwvb?partnerId=web_video-playback-page_video-share I liked this catch by Frelick, too...
  19. I saw that they were #4 overall on Rivals. That is crazy. 247 Sports has them at 12. on3.com has them at 19. Not much consensus, but it is much better than the ~40-50 rankings we had before Fickell came in.
  20. At least for one year... Longo has coached some of the best Wide Receivers in the game. Hopefully that is what brought Hilton to Wisconsin. Picking up Hilton gives Wisconsin the #12 recruiting class. That is "only" 4th in the Big Ten, though.
  21. I don't disagree with you. A manager is, in essence, a delegator. Like the captain of a ship, he needs to know how to delegate and trust his coaching staff. That said, he still needs to define "true north" for the team -- how are they going to try to meet the goal (whatever that is). It would be interesting to see how CC would have done this year with this team. My feeling is that he would not be doing as well as Murphy because I don't think CC would adapt his managerial style to match his personnel. Again, only speculation. When listening to a recent Cubs sports radio broadcast via YouTube (can't find it), the blame was solely on the GM.
