    They are learning how to take the next step. Were Dodger fans ready to jump ship when they weren't doing as well last year? By "weren't doing as well," I mean not winning 140 games. By the end of the season, I want to see them be healthy, have good momentum, and know that their stars will be able to step up and do what they need to do. That starts on the mound. I would not be surprised if the Crew gets one or two more bullpen arms and a top starter. Third base would be another welcome addition.

    I actually find it quite entertaining. The bit where he did the song from Cliffhanger from the Price is Right is still my favorite. I think there were those that said Uecker's fillers were nonsense, too, until they got used to it. At least his stuff was mostly baseball related.

    I have coached kids who have gone through the same type of emotions when their hard work has paid off. i actually teared up a little.

    He seriously needs to take some time off. If he is taking a bunch of meds, that is concerning to me simply for him as a person. IIRC, the hip surgery is supposed to be over the All Star break. He is a bit older than me and it took me a few days to just get up on my feet to where I was able to do something useful. If he is going to come back sooner, they will need to keep room for his walker... 😉

    I know he was sort of a border line starter. Wouldn't his workload be a little more like a starter, but only on 2-3 days rest? I agree he is not being used correctly. Perhaps Ashby is being used in the same way?

    I’m pretty sure that Cubs fans want Craig Counsell out of town. I’m sure that Stearns would like to bring him over to the Mets. Wouldn’t that be funny!

    I think the effort was there. You can tell that they haven't played together as much because there wasn't as much communication and they didn't play off each other as much. That said, I would have expected better. I would have liked to see the forwards make more runs. When Pulisic was on the field, it was night and day. He didn't only make vertical runs, but he made some incredible diagonal runs, too. For those who complained that Pulisic got nutmegged at the end of the game -- he was covering for his injured teammate. Oh... that wouldn't have been a problem if the coach didn't use up all of the subs. Since it was a "meaningless" game (as we heard over and over and over), it wasn't that big of a deal. Oh well... rest, recover, and get ready for the Milwaukee Messi.
