  1. LOL!!!! This song has been stuck in my head for decades! Fun fact -- it was sung by the Pointer Sisters. Now back to your original Badger Football Programming...
  2. Sesame Street for the win...
  3. The Milwaukee City Municipal court system is a crap shoot. Don't get any type of citation in the city, and don't expect to discuss any type of plea. Just like moving cattle -- 90 seconds and you are done.
  4. The honorable thing for a samurai to do is to admit when he is wrong. In this thread, I called out the Brewers for playing poor baseball and appearing to not play with heart. I was obviously wrong. I still look forward to going to the game on Tuesday. Seppuku is not an option. Oh, and I am not a real samurai. Nor did I play one on TV. Go Crew!!!
  5. LOL. You know, the only thing that frustrates me is when they play bad baseball. Miz looked like some type of 8th grade pitcher that had no idea what to do to fix his mechanics. Many people could see how he was falling off or falling over. He was not finishing consistently. I keep telling myself that Chris Hook is going to try and correct things. He has probably told Miz many times. I have been to many games this summer and am going this week. Two of the games saw the Brewers play like little leaguers. I don't care if Sonny Grey is pitching -- your approach needs to be left center to right center. The Brewers, for the most part, seem to not have any plan as they go up to the plate. I would like to the Brewers to actually beat another team not because the Brewers make fewer mistakes (oh... another bush-league decision on the base paths tonight), but I would like them to beat them because they are better. If they keep playing like this, they will not get a first-round bye, we will hear how their pitching staff is injured, and then they will be swept in the first round. Really, it looks like they have nothing to play for. Sure -- they made the playoffs. Play like you earned the spot, not like you backed your way in. If a team has lower goals, they will play as such.
  6. Great work as always. I was also noticing his hand position -- great catch. I also noticed that in the home run swing at the peak of his load (when his foot was lifted the highest), there were two things: he was "squatting" a little more, and the load was later on in the pitcher's delivery: You finish up the second sequence nicely where Ortiz appears to not be in a position to drive the ball at all. It could be a number of things such as not picking up the ball, Not having his legs contributing certainly affects the power. The first swing was on a 0-0 pitch where I would expect a Plus-Plus swing. The second was a 1-0 pitch, but I would expect a plus-plus swing, there, too. In the second swing, I think he was trying to hit behind the runner, perhaps. Great job as always!
  7. What? I turned it off after Holliday hit the dinger to break up the no-no. Wow!
  8. This reminds me of Gary Anderson v2. Remember when he came in and was going to change the Badger identity? He was looking for smaller lineman who were "more athletic." That is what I see with Fickel. No border around the state to keep the lineman local. It starts in the trenches and the Badgers have shown zero ability to win in the trenches. They also do not have any DBs that can play cover. Boooo. I graduated in '92 and was in the band during my years at Wisconsin starting in '87. Since I graduated, I have ALWAYS followed the Badgers closely. This year, not so much. Of course, it might be because I'm spending more time following the Brew Crew. Hmmmmm....
  9. This is going to be a very, very long season...
  10. Copilot is my friend... 😉 🏆 Carl Hubbell’s Legendary Streak Wins: 24 straight (21 as a starter, 3 in relief) ERA during streak: ~1.66 Complete Games: 13 Team Impact: Helped lead the New York Giants to the 1936 NL pennant Nickname: “The Meal Ticket” — earned in part due to this streak During the modern era: Gerrit Cole: 20 games between the Astros and Yankees in 2020 Jake Arrieta: 20 games in 2015 - 2016 Johan Santana: 17 in 2004 - 2005 Roger Clemens: 16 in 1986 https://www.mlb.com/news/the-longest-pitcher-win-streaks-in-mlb-history
  11. For some reason, this got me thinking about Ben Sheet's best season in 2004. He was leading in many categories, but they gave it to Clemens because he was 41, had a good year, and the team had a much better record. I still remember Steve "Sparky" Fifer being animated on the air saying that Sheets did not have a better year because he didn't win more games. Sheets couldn't be Bugs Bunny and hit for everyone since the offense was not good for the Brewers that year. The narrative states that Skenes will win it. He also has better numbers. We could find five or six different numbers out of the myriad of stats that are available to support Peralta. It won't work, though.
  12. Nothing a quick epidural wouldn't solve, right? In all seriousness, if Micah Parsons would have one to play (and JJ Watt had one based on his interview on McAfee this week), would this help Yelich? I'm not looking for him to do it and then never play again for sure. I really don't know what would be involved and what the risk would be.
  13. I don't know if I would go that far. However, I would be very disappointed if they don't get a first-round bye. I think about Barry Alvarez's Wisconsin Badger football teams. The goal was to win the Rose Bowl. There was never any talk about winning a national championship. I get taking care of business within the conference. I would like to see some more banter about getting a first round bye vs. only winning the division. Get a first round bye, and the division comes along for the ride.
  14. Isn't that about how much some backup quarterbacks make to hold a clipboard? I agree with you -- he seems to bring about a positive energy to the locker room.
  15. Let's go for getting a first-round bye, then winning the division will come along for the ride.
  16. Devers is a cancer. I'm sure the pitcher yelled to stop watching the ball. I call BS on Devers "seeing if it was fair."
  17. So I went to Seattle this weekend and had my standard Badgers hat, shirts (along with some Brewers stuff, too). Little did I know that I was staying at the same hotel as the Washington Huskies (they stay off campus the night before home games). Sporting my red Motion-W hat, I got to meet a bunch of players. They joked and said that it was the wrong "W". They were all very cool. I got to chat with one of the assistant strength and conditioning coaches. He was awesome as well. "We got you guys here in a couple of weeks." All of the interactions were very positive. I should have taken some selfies... 😢
  18. While I'm in flight from MKE to SEA, I get a text (texts were free) that the Packers traded for Micah Parsons. Whoa... Gute drafting a WR in the first round... and trading first round draft picks for Parsons. Perhaps he is becoming more unpredictable.
  19. 1982:2025 :: Fingers:Megill? I hope not…. Megill needs to come back.
  20. Now, 3-4 after Sunday's loss...
  21. Mrs. Samurai and I play a game each time Freddy pitches -- how many pitches will he throw in the first inning. We typically are in the mid 20's. I'm sure Willy will tell the Giants -- don't fish after two strikes because he may walk you. If Freddy can fill up the zone AND make competitive pitches with two strikes, you might get your wish.
  22. 3-3. Two more games planned -- Sunday 8/24 and Wed. 9/17. We had picked our games long before they announced the promotional games: Miz vs. Kershaw Home Run Derby Uecker Celebration of life Also bought tickets to the Cribbage Board game for the whole family. Oof... what a crappy game to watch.
