  1. Pretty sure there can be a grievance here if the Brewers DFA'd him due to injury.
  2. It should be Ashby not Peralta. If you are getting Soto its to push over the next two seasons. Peralta is much better than Ashby at this point.
  3. The Padres have to have a reason to move on from Rogers. It maybe that he hasn't pitched more than 40 innings since 2019. Maybe they see a guy who is about to pitch closer to his xFIP.
  4. The Yankees aren't offering that. Hader is worth one solid FV 50 or so prospect and one FV 40 at most. He's not going to bring back a prospect that projects to be an All-Star. Williams has arguably more trade value.
  5. I think this assumes that Wiemar hasn't lost a lot of value. Hard to see a guy looking to repeat AA at 24 as still a top prospect. May have to replace him with Frelick or Mitchell but even so, yes.
  6. You're right, that talent was much better.
  7. He's a distinctly average hitter so he seems like the typical Brewer target
  8. They signed him when he had a 34.6% k-rate in 2021. Pretty sure it has more to do with his 83 wRC+ in 2022 compared to his wRC+ of 123 in 2021
  9. Calling a bunch of 22-23 year old pitchers scuffling in A mid tier prospects is generous. Bell would likely cost less but the Nationals might want the value in one prospect than multiple. Something like Kelly and Erceg.

  11. Since June 1 Hiura had a wRC+ of 123.
  12. Soto has something like $175 million in excess value. Fangraphs has the entire Brewer minor league system valued at $158 million, so this would really be selling the farm. Soto is worth 3 FV50 and higher prospects; the Brewers have one.
  13. Huh? That is what the Brewers have in Adames and Urias. They are lacking in impact 1B/DH bats and corner outfield bats.
  14. Well reasonable here would be all the Brewer prospects that have any value
  15. You can easily build an offense from center field if that is where your hole is. This all assumes that Bell from the first half is Bell going forward. That is far from assured. Tellez has a wRC+ of 118, basically average 1B play which is a win for Stearns in comparison to prior years. Bell has an wRC+ of 147. That is a big difference. However, The Brewers aren't getting those PAs, they are getting future plate appearances. All projection systems have Tellez maintaining that 118 wRC+ going forward. The projection systems are all over the place for Bell, ranging from 121 wRC+ which is indistinguishable from Tellez to a 140 wRC+ which would be an improvement. Now this range isn't that surprising given Bell has a BABIP of .331 compared to his career of .291. And Bell's career wRC+ is 118. But the idea that Bell is a sure fire upgrade is not supported, especially when defense is considered. We have seen Bell have amazing first halves before where it looked liked he broke out to an MVP level only for him to crash in the second half. See 2019. Bell is available and obtainable whereas some of the CF options that should be available (Mullins, Reynolds, and Garcia since they are on the wrong side of the age curve for rebuilding ) will likely not be obtainable for the Brewers. I just think Bell and Mancini as well are not the needle movers people think they are.

  17. Well if there is one thing you can be sure about, it's that copying the Met's front office is a winning strategy!
  18. If the Brewers pay $20 million for the guy who has a hall of fame talent how can the Brewers pay $8 million for a replacement level DH?
  19. Milner is getting by by not giving up home runs. A 6.7% FB/HR rate is not sustainable especially given his career rate is 17.8%. He's basically the definition of a replacement bullpen arm.
  20. Whoops, someone had written Dean instead of Wyatt
  21. Is there really a universe where Lloyd or very similar talent wasn't there at 33?
  22. Can we all agree the Jags are just lost?
  23. The Packers needed to come out of the draft with a WR1. Hard to see them even getting a WR2 at this point. Watson at least may have the physical tools to become a top WR. You almost need to take him at 22 at this point.
  24. That was to the Padres. Who when up 7-0 proceeded to score 5 more runs. Padres coaches better be throwing at hitters during batting practice otherwise they will never play the game the right way.
  25. Who aside from Adames in today's lineup is definitely better than Yelich? The Brewers are a collection of approximately league average hitters and Adames, Yelich projects better than anyone.
