  1. Unfortunately agree with Chourizo, this is a tough business and there is no guarantee of a big contract until signed. Still wishing for the best though and it isn't very serious like initially thought.
  2. With the exception of Bush, a heck of a job by the pitching staff. Unlike Junk, Rea will stick around for at least another start after that performance. Loved that Williams got the ninth against the heart of the Padres order in a non save situation and struck them all out. If I was watching this game live would have definitely thought Payamps would give up the lead but he stepped up as well. Edited to add that these recaps are nice to have for these late night games. A really good summary with highlights/reaction.
  3. I doubt Taylor is the oddman out but probably still a while away. Didn't have a Spring Training and can't throw.
  4. I would agree with the lack of catchers that can hit that he hasn't received much of a chance. However, during his time in the majors he has been brutal and once you become an out of option non 40 man guy it gets tough. Not looking real great for him to get called up this year either.
  5. He was better than Voit last year but again not sustainable with his k%. Certainly has better future than Voit who is probably toast.
  6. Hiura probably is better than Voit but may be a blessing so he can work on things in the minors. If he improves and works on his k% like others have suggested he will be brought up later this summer. Hiura wasn't going to improve by sitting on the bench all season.
  7. It helps that WWE is a big corporation now, still have to pay big bucks for AEW. I like it though because paid like $60 for ad free for the year in October and actually enjoy other stuff on Peacock.
  8. So what is the maximum number of players on a AAA roster?
  9. I don't really like the bullpen. Was looking forward to Houser stabilizing the bullpen a bit but that will have to wait. Have little to no confidence in WIlson/Payamps/Guerra. A guy like Guerra should have high K numbers but has not been able to strikeout many. I like Varland but he is still a project and hasn't really had success anywhere. Bush has been terrible as a Brewer and getting up there in years. Hopefully Strez doesn't get worn out by being the only reliable guy prior to WIlliams.
  10. There is the argument that if he received more at bats his numbers would diminish. He received more at bats in the last month of the season than any other month and that was his worst month. Can't ignore his 900 OPS from May-August either but there are plenty who doubt his production last year is sustainable.
  11. Not really news but more of an observation. My family visited Truist Park as part of Spring Break. I went there and thought there might be some interesting Milwaukee Braves items. They had a large team store and there were zero Milwaukee Braves items, huge wall of hats and not a single Milwaukee Braves one. I note this because I sometimes see fans question why we honor the Milwaukee Braves teams when that is not our franchise. However, it sure seems like the Milwaukee Braves franchise and even the players that didn't play for Atlanta would be forgotten if not for the Brewers continuing to recognize those teams and players. To be fair there was a Warren Spahn Statue at one of the entrances.
  12. I think he stays, in the minority but don't think anybody claims/trades for him.
  13. I kind of like it will be two teammates going against each other in the final four, two present and two past. Braun/Fielder and Burnes/Yelich. I would have to imagine the eventual winner will be Braun/Fielder.
  14. They won't have a tough time justifying sending him down when Taylor comes back. As simple as he has options
  15. Attended last night's game and what a pathetic performance. It happens but there were so many time it looked like the Bucks would blow the Pacers away and they just couldn't do it. The defense against the three point shot gave me horrible flashbacks, hopefully not a sign of things to come.
  16. I don't get why WIly Peralta is a #11 seed and more confused why so many are voting for him. He was a punching bag when he was here and Aramis was one of the better free agent signings in Brewers history.
  17. If it is really based on favorite then yeah Suter would be much higher. Kind of weak that you put Gomez and Perez together, Perez had popularity above his talent.
  18. I am excited to see what they have in Love. They will have to commit $20 million or so for 2024 before seeing him start but it isn't a long term commitment with huge cap implications so they have some flexibility with him. If he performs well they will have to give him a huge contract but the Packers QB has had a huge cap number for a number of years.
  19. 2-3 WAR players are pretty valuable, especially at league minimum. If the Brewers are confident that Mitchell/Frelick are 2-3 WAR players than the correct decision to get rid of the guy making $12 million.
  20. The Lazard signing will get the Packers another draft pick. He had a nice career with the Packers but don't think his numbers will ever be better than 2022.
  21. Lutz can certainly earn a role as a 4th outfielder on this Brewers team in the future. Frelick/Mitchell being lefty and Taylor in arbitration starting next year so there is opportunity there. I don't know if fans will ever go nutz for Lutz like some expected but could still have a nice career.
  22. Yes, seems likely Anderson is the primary 3b and Urias 2b. Perkins may benefit from that but still a longshot
  23. The Brewers certainly don't need to extend Adams. There is not another few years as you state. Clearly there is a couple of year window here but if they struggle they should absolutely look to trade him for a nice package of players.
  24. It isn't that hard to keep Wiemer and Frelick down 15 days during the year. Would rather have either one ahead of Naquin to start the year. Can always send down one when Taylor comes back due to a numbers game or send one down and bring one up if they need to work on something. It's pretty easy to do when their top prospects are all outfielders.
