  1. I have learned not to get surprised by anything in sports but Rodgers retiring would certainly be one, just not going to happen with this much money at stake.
  2. I doubt Wilson has a huge impact on the season but do believe he makes the opening roster. Not so confident he is still here the end of April.
  3. Do you actually think all 23 of these predictions will happen or just hoping to hit on a couple?
  4. Cousins and Strzelecki have about the same amount of success in the majors, same age and project to have pretty similar numbers. I still expect one to be in the minors to star the year.
  5. Not all of those guys are going to be in the majors, most won't at the same time. Anderson will make the team and it will be an upset if he isn't the starting third baseman. The other guys mentioned will get playing time throughout the year but I don't forsee a Spring Training battle between Anderson and anybody else. Only way that happens is if he struggles and then loses his job sometime during the regular season, may even be DFA if that becomes the case.
  6. I would be surprised if this was a battle at all. More like Anderson is playing 3B and plays OF on occasion.
  7. After this past off season with the Brewers nobody can definitively say who has more value. Ruiz got Contreras and if that trade never happened I would imagine nobody here would say Ruiz has the same trade value as Contreras or even Mitchell.
  8. I recall it doing the same thing thing a number of months ago when mentioning Kenny Lofton. Curious, does anybody know MLB's stance when mentioning former players? Is Bob Feller referred to as a Guardian.
  9. Would pass, take it year to year with him. He may very well have a decent season but would have my doubts he could replicate again. If he regresses then can part ways after the season.
  10. I don't think Winker crowds the outfield any further, just like McCutchen didn't make it any more crowded last year. He is a DH that may have to play OF every once in a while. Love that you have the Suter move as an F, keep that Suter love going until the end. Feliciano had no value, the Tigers were able to outright him to the minors. Developing him is another story. Overall grade is a little high, just don't think it was an above average off season. In order to be above average I really think they need better bullpen pickups. Also, I think it is fair to grade the off season in hindsight. If they give some younger guys opportunities because internal evaluation say they are ready then the grade may be better. If they hive these guys significant playing time and they fail then the front office has to be questioned.
  11. I am fine with no extension, they tend not to end well with the Brewers. However, it would be nice if ownership actually stretched the budget for this 1-2 year window to really go for it. This off season isn't necessarily a failure because one of their biggest weakness was catcher and they obtained a young one in Contreras but even there, question marks remain about his defense and if he will stay there long term. So overall maybe a C+/B- but I'm also not real confident they have any chance at a World Series.
  12. It is Clancy, it would be a huge upset if Suter wasn't on the RP list.
  13. Regarding the Molitor lot, I am with you. I live in Madison now but Milwaukee most my life and it is the easiest in and out lot. If you don't know the area it isn't right off the highway so many wouldn't bother trying to find. Have had decent luck getting free street parking on south 44th Street right by the park but a lot of employees/ volunteers park there as well so does fill up.
  14. Kind of odd to even mention Khris Davis or Brooks Kieschnick since the National League didn't adopt the DH until 2022. A bunch of guys in Brewers history have played a few games at DH.
  15. I like that Dave May was included as he did not have a nice few years with the Brewers and rarely mentioned. However, can't see Podsednik over Cameron or Cain. Cameron's two years were better than Podsednik and Cain's two best years or his entire run as a whole was better that Podsednik.
  16. Yelich played the majority of his games in LF when he was MVP, RF when he was second in MVP the following year. Splitting hairs a bit classifying him as a RF/LF but you should consider his whole scope of work as a Brewers when ranking him as one or the other. If you include him in the RF rankings then fine but if you exclude him from RF as well it is pretty ridiculous.
  17. Looking at the lack of productive SS in Brewers history it is kind of crazy that they moved Hall to CF after a 6 WAR season at SS where he was productive offensively and defensively. It was probably the right move in hindsight with Hardy at SS and they wanted Braun at 3B but still that is a bold move. Quite the downfall for Hall from 2006 to 2007. Would have been even a bolder move but wonder what the Brewers could have received if they traded Hall after that season.
  18. Spiers is rather weak at 5, Hernandez is far more deserving. Would put Hall over Spiers for just 2006.
  19. I would think Singleton would want to stick with the Brewers if not claimed as he willingly signed with them after the season without a major league deal. Could still be the first option if Rowdy got hurt pending if they do anything with Hiura.
  20. One thing I always do with my kids is go to customer relations and get a free pack of baseball cards. If we are sitting in the Terrace, can go to customer relations up there and get a pack as well. If you pay for parking go the the designated driver booth to the left of the main entrance to get a free soda voucher. You used to be able to bring pretty much any food into the ballpark but more restrictive now. Can bring an unopened bottle of water/soda for each person plus a snack (peanuts, licorice, chips etc.) for each person. Agree with T that the food inside is bad, the price is understandable because that is ballpark prices but not paying for expensive and bad. I do like the fresh popcorn on the main level by the entrance. The Bud Selig Experience on the Loge level beyond Left Field is good if you have never seen before, hasn't been updated though. Is free, about 15 minutes or so and some memorabilia to look at after the video is done.
  21. They would be sent down in that scenario. However, it certainly is less likely Turang begins the year with the Brewers and they just go with a Toro/Miller/Perkins type player on opening day. If Anderson stinks/ constantly on IL again will be forced to bring up Turang.
  22. They still have Brosseau against lefties if they don't want to play Anderson against lefties all of the time. More concerned if his overall numbers bounce back to career norms. However, like others have indicated, his salary does not preclude the Brewers from moving on and going a different direction.
  23. If Hiura isn't a fit on this team and there are no takers it might make sense to DFA Hiura, if he doesn't accept the assignment he doesn't get paid his $2 million.
  24. As it stands it is Caratini/Brosseau/Hiura and one of Toro/Miller/Frelick/Turang/Perkins as the last guy. Will be interesting to see if they still end up trading Hiura. Urias can certainly be the backup SS and starting 2B so no need for Turang to sit on the bench.
