  1. I don't think anybody can say his role was going to be RP this season without making assumptions, he has always been a starter and still is. They have him under control next year and actually wouldn't be surprised if he signed a couple year deal in the off season to avoid arbitration and get some more guaranteed money in '25. However, not seeing a five year deal. If his trends hold true, he should be good the rest of the year so that is all I am hoping for at this point.
  2. The Brewers can make an incremental improvement by actually getting a right handed platoon bat that can hit LHP. Lane Thomas of the Nationals fits, get rid of Voit.
  3. I don't really think the Brewers are considering sending Turang down right now because of the lack of good options. Hopefully he can pick things up in the next month as I have no doubt he will be sent down when Urias come back if he continues to struggle offensively. If Anderson/Turang/Urias are all producing there are enough at bats for all.
  4. He appears to actually be playing better defense than he has in years. Yes, it would be helpful if he could sit against lefties, maybe can do that more with Taylor coming back. They are not releasing him this year so enough will not be enough this year. Business wise I'm sure the Brewers have a large insurance policy on him. Realistically not getting rid of him anytime soon unless there is a career ending injury.
  5. I think we all knew who wrote this as soon as we saw it was a Brent Suter article. Taken seriously, like others have said Suter would not have been in high leverage situations. He very well may have been in the Guerra spot after the game is basically over. If we were to look at a Brewers reliever from last year that might have been higher leverage that player may be Trevor Gott. He pitched in the 7th/8th a lot prior to Bush arriving. It sure looks like they should have kept Gott instead of Bush.
  6. It will probably be at least a couple of weeks for Frelick since he is on the 7 day IL and then will probably need a few games to get going again. At least Wiemer will get plenty of opportunities as there are no better options in sight.
  7. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say Perkins is demoted before Taylor comes back.
  8. Frelick out with a thumb injury and Perkins out of the lineup. So if bringing up a OF probably Perkins at this point.
  9. Wiemer is a better CF than both. Would certainly take my chances with Frelick over Perkins to be regular starting OF.
  10. Even if it was an expected 10 day stint on the IL would still go with Frelick as whoever comes up will get plenty of playing time. Then can figure out who deserves to stay when Mitchell comes back. Still not hearing anything about Taylor so have to believe no news is bad news in regards to his injury and wouldn't expect his return anytime soon.
  11. With the exception of Bush, a heck of a job by the pitching staff. Unlike Junk, Rea will stick around for at least another start after that performance. Loved that Williams got the ninth against the heart of the Padres order in a non save situation and struck them all out. If I was watching this game live would have definitely thought Payamps would give up the lead but he stepped up as well. Edited to add that these recaps are nice to have for these late night games. A really good summary with highlights/reaction.
  12. I would agree with the lack of catchers that can hit that he hasn't received much of a chance. However, during his time in the majors he has been brutal and once you become an out of option non 40 man guy it gets tough. Not looking real great for him to get called up this year either.
  13. It helps that WWE is a big corporation now, still have to pay big bucks for AEW. I like it though because paid like $60 for ad free for the year in October and actually enjoy other stuff on Peacock.
  14. So what is the maximum number of players on a AAA roster?
  15. Not really news but more of an observation. My family visited Truist Park as part of Spring Break. I went there and thought there might be some interesting Milwaukee Braves items. They had a large team store and there were zero Milwaukee Braves items, huge wall of hats and not a single Milwaukee Braves one. I note this because I sometimes see fans question why we honor the Milwaukee Braves teams when that is not our franchise. However, it sure seems like the Milwaukee Braves franchise and even the players that didn't play for Atlanta would be forgotten if not for the Brewers continuing to recognize those teams and players. To be fair there was a Warren Spahn Statue at one of the entrances.
  16. I kind of like it will be two teammates going against each other in the final four, two present and two past. Braun/Fielder and Burnes/Yelich. I would have to imagine the eventual winner will be Braun/Fielder.
  17. They won't have a tough time justifying sending him down when Taylor comes back. As simple as he has options
  18. I don't get why WIly Peralta is a #11 seed and more confused why so many are voting for him. He was a punching bag when he was here and Aramis was one of the better free agent signings in Brewers history.
  19. If it is really based on favorite then yeah Suter would be much higher. Kind of weak that you put Gomez and Perez together, Perez had popularity above his talent.
  20. I am excited to see what they have in Love. They will have to commit $20 million or so for 2024 before seeing him start but it isn't a long term commitment with huge cap implications so they have some flexibility with him. If he performs well they will have to give him a huge contract but the Packers QB has had a huge cap number for a number of years.
  21. 2-3 WAR players are pretty valuable, especially at league minimum. If the Brewers are confident that Mitchell/Frelick are 2-3 WAR players than the correct decision to get rid of the guy making $12 million.
  22. The Lazard signing will get the Packers another draft pick. He had a nice career with the Packers but don't think his numbers will ever be better than 2022.
  23. Lutz can certainly earn a role as a 4th outfielder on this Brewers team in the future. Frelick/Mitchell being lefty and Taylor in arbitration starting next year so there is opportunity there. I don't know if fans will ever go nutz for Lutz like some expected but could still have a nice career.
