  1. Trade Simulator says Taylor alone could get it done but sure include one of Cousins/Topa to get it done. Find that a little hard to believe but if the Brewers could trade from their excess to acquire what was a weakness I hope they do it. Would open up a reserve spot for Ruiz.
  2. Yeah, would have to imagine Erceg would take a 40 man spot over loyalty to the Brewers on a minor league deal.

  4. Being able to buy out one year of free agency with Woodruff would be great, would much rather have that than a 6 year deal but doubt Woodruff would go for it . Would have to make that third year worth it and 3/45 doesn't do it.

  6. Kevin Seitzer had a career year in 92 but Sheffield could have been the player that put them over the top and into the playoffs. If there is one move in Brewers history I could take back it would be this one because there has not been many years the Brewers could have won the World Series but 92 was one of them.

  8. Initially it appears kind of silly that Yelich is a finalist but like stated the pool to select from isn't very big. If he somehow won that would be ridiculous but top 3 in LF isn't much of a stretch.

  10. No reason to give Perdomo a guaranteed contract when can go with guys like Cousins/Topa/Strz/Uribe/Sanchez and option back and forth. Dump Suter and sign a decent lefty. Actually think they may prefer Gott over Boxberger at this point as it sure looks like Boxberger is on the decline. May have to just eat the 750K, would still be cheaper to keep Gott or another option guy over Box. Don't think they keep both Box and Gott though either way.

  12. Of course it does. They get judged on results, he will look like a genius if they turn into all stars. If the players end up being nothing the trade will be a black mark on Stearns forever. It's the reality of the business whether you like it or not.
  13. That is where the top prospect comes into play. There isn't a lot of motivation to trade except he will be getting paid about $4 million to be a backup. If the Blue Jays are not offered something good there is no need for them to trade him. Also no comparison defensively between Jansen and Narvaez when he was a Mariner.
  14. Milner was pretty bad the second half of the year and was one of many that underperformed during their cold streaks in the second half. I know there was some analysis early on indicating he wasn't throwing strikes which is why hitters were not effective against him, wonder if they were more patient after those initial couple of months. Will be interesting to see how he does next year.

  16. With the season almost over I actually think the articles can generate discussion. Just stay away from fact based transaction articles. If they make a move and there is opinion and analysis involved great but stay away from an article about Pablo Reyes being DFA a couple days after the fact.
  17. I would probably change my mind at this point and add Cam Devanney. Every team could use an infielder that goes up and down during the year and Pablo Reyes can't be that anymore so maybe Devanney can be that person. Turang could play that role as well but thinking they would want him to play on a regular basis and not be the shuttle guy.

  19. Before the Reds series, I said probably need to go 11-2 the rest of the way and will stick with that. 8-1 will get them in but nothing less than that will do.

  21. Brewers have a lot of relief pitching decisions. Even though not free agents, Gott/Suter/Bush/Perdomo/Gustave/Milner/Williams are all arbitration eligible as well. Out of that group only Williams is a slam dunk tender. Topa/Cousins/Strzelecki are the minimum salary guys so maybe want three/four of these other guys back. I would lean toward keeping Boxberger at the 2.25.

  23. Just as Summer ends, the Summer of George also ends, hopefully never to return again.
  24. Yes, has been on the Brewers 40 man since early 2021. He is out of options next season however so a potential DFA.
