  1. Initially it appears kind of silly that Yelich is a finalist but like stated the pool to select from isn't very big. If he somehow won that would be ridiculous but top 3 in LF isn't much of a stretch.

  3. No reason to give Perdomo a guaranteed contract when can go with guys like Cousins/Topa/Strz/Uribe/Sanchez and option back and forth. Dump Suter and sign a decent lefty. Actually think they may prefer Gott over Boxberger at this point as it sure looks like Boxberger is on the decline. May have to just eat the 750K, would still be cheaper to keep Gott or another option guy over Box. Don't think they keep both Box and Gott though either way.

  5. That is where the top prospect comes into play. There isn't a lot of motivation to trade except he will be getting paid about $4 million to be a backup. If the Blue Jays are not offered something good there is no need for them to trade him. Also no comparison defensively between Jansen and Narvaez when he was a Mariner.
  6. Milner was pretty bad the second half of the year and was one of many that underperformed during their cold streaks in the second half. I know there was some analysis early on indicating he wasn't throwing strikes which is why hitters were not effective against him, wonder if they were more patient after those initial couple of months. Will be interesting to see how he does next year.

  8. With the season almost over I actually think the articles can generate discussion. Just stay away from fact based transaction articles. If they make a move and there is opinion and analysis involved great but stay away from an article about Pablo Reyes being DFA a couple days after the fact.
  9. I would probably change my mind at this point and add Cam Devanney. Every team could use an infielder that goes up and down during the year and Pablo Reyes can't be that anymore so maybe Devanney can be that person. Turang could play that role as well but thinking they would want him to play on a regular basis and not be the shuttle guy.

  11. Before the Reds series, I said probably need to go 11-2 the rest of the way and will stick with that. 8-1 will get them in but nothing less than that will do.

  13. Brewers have a lot of relief pitching decisions. Even though not free agents, Gott/Suter/Bush/Perdomo/Gustave/Milner/Williams are all arbitration eligible as well. Out of that group only Williams is a slam dunk tender. Topa/Cousins/Strzelecki are the minimum salary guys so maybe want three/four of these other guys back. I would lean toward keeping Boxberger at the 2.25.

  15. Just as Summer ends, the Summer of George also ends, hopefully never to return again.
  16. Yes, has been on the Brewers 40 man since early 2021. He is out of options next season however so a potential DFA.

  18. It's possible the Brewers eliminate the Cardinals from the playoffs but pretty much impossible at this point to win the division.

  20. Good stuff as always Tim. My two kids are about 5 years younger than yours. With all the struggles will be enjoying the innocent times going to the doubleheader with them today. They are excited to watch two games and get some Dippin Dots with their concession money. Maybe get a ball in the bleachers.

  22. Just saw that Nash Walters was put on the Angels 40 man. Any idea why they would do that and waste an option when they could have just added him after the season?
  23. I'm not too concerned about the rankings as I don't know other teams. However, when I look at the individual players and the Top 20 I feel much more confident in this system producing quality players in the future.

  25. I think the list put together by Mass Haas is the way I would go as well. Would consider Valerio being only 21 but hard to believe another team would keep him on the roster all year. If a Devanney/Lutz/Andrews type got drafted I would be glad they had the opportunity but don't really see a Brewer being picked.
