  1. I think the list put together by Mass Haas is the way I would go as well. Would consider Valerio being only 21 but hard to believe another team would keep him on the roster all year. If a Devanney/Lutz/Andrews type got drafted I would be glad they had the opportunity but don't really see a Brewer being picked.
  2. Yeah, I don't get these. Are these being posted on social media and then drive traffic here.

  4. Cousins just recently pitched back to back this week on 8/16 and 8/17 so could be an indication he is getting close. Good point on Severino, if they really need a catcher in September they could always call him up. Mejia has no options left next year so would have to think he is near top of the list to be DFA if they need room.

  6. Mejia wasn't out due to injury he was suspended for testing positive for PEDs. Today was the first day he could have come back to the Brewers but was optioned instead. Would have kept Reetz and got rid of Jackson.

  8. I watched a lot of 90's baseball and never thought of Jaha as a disappointment, more of an over achiever. He didn't make the majors until his late 20's and never had huge expectations. Would have been nice if he stayed healthy but out of his control. By the time he left for Oakland he was 33 and out of the Brewers plans. I would consider his teammate Dave Nilsson more of a disappointment, expected more of him and when he finally reached his talent level he left the Brewers at 29.
  9. The most memorable on field moment is that Diamondbacks game. Appropriate that this occurs around the trade deadline with that trade to the Indians that got rejected and he ended up with the Rangers which brought us Yelich eventually with Brinson being the headliner.
  10. I wouldn't be worried about him blocking anybody. If he produces he can either be traded for prospects/another need or take over for Renfroe in RF after 2023. Frelick is the real deal so need to keep him but have no problem trading Mitchell or Weimer for him.

  12. I don't think Mancini or any Oriole is a good target anymore. They are in the Wild Card hunt and would have to overpay to get any of those guys. They might even be buyers
  13. Drury and Bell are rentals and they could sit Wong, have McCutchen play more CF, Rowdy sit more agsinst LHP to help with the hitting against LHP. Laureano would be more of a long term fix and cost more but has always hit lefties. Obviously not getting all three but getting one of those players would help.
  14. I do think the Brewers end up with a Tigers reliever again, Jimenez or Fulmer. Hopefully it ends up better than the Norris acquisition. It did cost the Brewers Reese Olson last year so doubt Taylor Floyd gets it done however.
  15. FYI Sammon never called Quero a third tier prospect. Not sure why OP added that, is a big assumption to make.

  17. I don't agree with the statement that Tellez "performed up to expectations" but he has also been a bit unlucky. Certainly hasn't played at a B+ level but I expect an uptick in the second half. Agree that Peterson should be on here, has played 80 games and probably the most valuable position player of the first half. Hopefully he doesn't disappear like he did last September. Overall the infield has underperformed as a whole but there is reason to believe the second half will be better.
  18. Don't really think it is no win for Yelich. Fans in general want to like him but overall has not been very good since his injury. If he redevelops himself as a leadoff hitter with a 400 OBP and 800 OPS like he has thus far he will be fine. He is still the most popular player on the team. It's not like he is getting booed at the ballpark.
  19. Mathias was actually with the Brewers in 2020 but was injured during Spring Training 2021 and was eventually outrighted off the 40 man.

  21. Mancini would be the best hitter on the Brewers, they need hitters so there is definitely a reason to get him. McCutchen is gone after the season anyways just like Mancini would be. I would be fine with McCutchen never facing a righty the rest of the season.

  23. Power hitters like Burnitz and Sexson and the announcing of Vasgersian made those years bearable.

  25. They need another left handed bat that can play DH on occassion, we'll see if Singleton gets the opportunity. If he was right handed there is no way he would get a shot with McCutchen around.
