    Good for him, had been with the organization for a long time so have followed for a long time, an easy guy to root for. Looking forward to him pitching in Milwaukee in a couple of weeks.

    I read that wrong and thought they decided to option Milner and have Small as the only lefty.

    My main concern when they brought him in was his strikeout rate. To go from 6.7 for his career to 10.4 this season is a huge jump. I also give credit to Arnold because he isn't sticking with the relief guys that are not working out. He didn't need all to hit, just some.

    I actually like the current scoreboard but understand these things only have a certain life. Can't even imagine it being twice the current size.

    Voit is already on the 40 but yeah would be simple enough to just not bring Voit back and Urias to take his spot next week. Would still have to decide what active position player to demote,

    Not really surprising it is a major league deal considering they have no starter on Thursday and giving Rea another start tonight after lasting three innings last time around.

    You know the Brewers will not play him like that so his success against RHP doesn't matter on this team.

    Phillies pitching is even worse than the Brewers so not coming to the Brewers, good or bad.

    I imagine Rea is Lauer's long man tonight if it is the reverse of what happened to Rea last week. Wouldn't assume Rea is starting in the Astros series.

    Covey pitched 4 innings on Wednesday for the Dodgers when Dustin May had to leave after 1 inning. Covey was DFA the next day. Would consider giving Covey the start Monday or Tuesday as the other options are not real great either. Probably looking at Tyson Miller, Ethan Small. Janson Junk or some combination of that and a Wilson piggyback. Covey has been starting all year, started in China last year. Maybe he could keep the Brewers in the game and pitch decent for a couple of games at least, similar to what Rea did for a bit and then DFA if necessary.

    The Brewers need to keep giving Taylor a chance because there isn't a better option right now. Probably after next season he gets too expensive and they have a number of outfielders that can play his role better.

    Pitched the 8th against the Astros and gave up a run in an inning of work.

    I'm going to opt to stay positive and looking forward to a bunch of starting pitching to return in 6-8 weeks.

    You mentioned it but he has been brutal lately, with his last start being his worst. Not seeing any call up to make a spot start next week.

    Getting rid of the rule 5 draft would be bad. Again, it isn't really there for teams to get top prospects it is there to ensure players get added to the 40 man. The actual rules of what happens after a player is drafted certainly can be updated/changed but taking a big step backwards getting rid of it.

    I still like the rule 5 draft because it forces teams to add guys to their own 40 man that deserve to be and once there it is an easy call to the big leagues. It basically ensures that guys that are deserving are added and not just in the system for 7 years. If they are not added it is usually for a good reason and there are rarely more than a couple of success stories each year. Noda of the A's is another Dodger minor league that has shown he can hold his own and is playing well in the bigs.

    I kind of think a bad team will claim him and he doesn't make it back to the Dodgers.

    The Red Sox were pretty hot until they got swept by the Cardinals. Hopefully Freddy can stop the momentum the Cardinals are on.

    I don't know how he is going to do but I'm predicting a lot of bad puns in the game threads in the future. Darin lies the problem if he has a Ruf go of it.

    The Hader deal was a good deal if just looking at the trade but tough for PR and selling a product to fans. Saying the Brewers received Peanuts is certainly false but can make the case they shouldn't trade a guy like Hader when in first. The Brewers won't forget the reaction from last year so may be hesitant to trade Burnes/Adames if in contention.

    I'm all for riding the hot hand but he did this last year with Cleveland as well. Let's see if he can keep it up but with guys like Voit, Winker and Brosseau on the roster he should get plenty of opportunity. Really impressed how he came through in the 9th last night after Turang had a poor at bat. He's earned more playing time against both righties and lefties.
