  1. Draft the lazy guy? What kind of plan is that? Harris is a better pick. Harris was better as a freshman. Burks is a wimp who doesn't defend
  2. RR think Betancourt was good last year, and he thinks Kotsay is good. These things lead me to believe RR is bad. Braun, Fielder, Weeks, and Marcum have covered up the fact that this guy is a clown. Also, this silly idea that any pitcher needs to be "the 8th inning guy" is beyond illogical. How about just rotate all the relievers that are pitching well so they get consistent work?
  3. I'm guessing part of the filler would be Darko Milicic, and than any of Webster, Pecovic, Ridnaur, Wesley Johnson, or Jonny Flynn would fill the salary exchange requirements. I really like Derrick Williams, but fear I might spend the next 20 years watching a donut team. I hated not having a center, not sure if I want to go back to that.
  4. TJ Mittlestaedt's HR last night was his 5th of the year, in 134 at-bats, pushing his OPS to 916. Last year with the Arizona Brewers he had just 1 HR in 149 at-bats with a 792 OPS. Props to him.
  5. Wow, every Brewers minor league starting pitcher threw at least 4 shutout innings tonight. Nice work.
  6. This is a good start. Now if we just replace Kotsay with Boggs and Betancourt with Green we'll be close to fielding our best team
  7. The worst hitter on the Nashville squad, Eric Farris, batting 3rd, and top prospect Taylor Green batting 9th. Don Money is a knob. If he insists on being this idiodic, then Melvin or Ash really need to make a phone call and explain to him that you want the actual prospects to get the most at-bats.
  8. Parra and Saito are on the 60 day DL, so there's 3 open spots on the 40 man roster. Also, Eric Farris and Martin Maldanado could be removed without repurcusion.
  9. I'm surprised at all the negativity towards Green. Yes, he struggled while recovering from a hamate injury, but it seems like some want to ignore that history that accompanies that injury. Also, MLEs were spot on in predicting Alcides Escobar would suck, so it exciting to me that they're predicting Green will be very solid.
  10. I think they have a nice oppurtunity to gage where Green is at with the DH coming into play later in the week. Green has a higher OPS than Gamel, and far better than what McGehee did in AAA. He's played his way into the picture with an OPS over 1.500 this month. Well done.
  11. Taylor Green is a making a play to be in this mix. He's outhitting Gamel for the season, and more importantly is blistering hot right now. His OPS in June is over 1.500, that's sick. He also offers more defensive versatility.
  12. Or the big league DH later this week. Green makes a good argument with an OPS over 1.500 this month. More defensive versatility than Gamel too. Great to see him all the way back.
  13. I don't see why Gamel is the only option to come up and DH. Does everyone realize he's has just the 4th highest OPS on his Nashville team? Also, he been bad defensively. Sadly, he's not even much different than Fielder at 1B defensively. I say call up Brandon Boggs. He has great AAA numbers this year, and was very good there last year too. He was unlucky in the majors this year, but still had a mid-700 OPS. He should be the top player on the Brewers bench, and some full-time duty would help him earn that. Boggs could play LF, with Braun DH'ing, which improves the defense. To make room for him, simply release Kotsay. We have numerous AAA OFs as good as Kotsay.
  14. I agree, and I wish the Brewers would do this. Instead they consistently blow millions on FA relievers well spending little on the draft. Gennet and Howell signed for $260 K and weren't overslot signings under the new rules. Hall, Kentrail Davis, and D'Vontrey Richardson were the only recent overslot signings, and they were about $1.3 million overslot combined. Thats it for overslot signings over the last 4 years, and that disappointments me.
  15. Thanks a ton, I'll set the DVR.

  20. I thought he was one of the better defensive OF's on the Rattlers the few times I seen him in LF. He runs well, and he's a smooth athlete. The negative I saw with him then is I thought his bat looked slow, but I'm no expert on that. It was 2 years ago, and it's possible he's made swing adjustments since then.
  21. He was an awful reach. Good players were available, and this guy neither threw hard nor was productive.
  22. They'll meet after the day is over, re-organize, and grab some college guys to fill whatever spots are empty. Much like last year with guys like Greg Hopkins and Nick Shaw.
  23. Nah, he's a 4th year junior. He'll take what he can get now, likely around $80-90K. Nice arm, keep those power relievers coming.
  24. Most important trait to play 3B isn't glove or feet, it's being righthanded. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Ramirez throws lefthanded. He has potential as a pitcher, but has stated he prefers to hit. Hope he changes his mind. Hope the Brewers challenge him to drive home that point sooner.
