  1. I know there are a few more in there, but I can only think of these. Secret Stadium Sauce Aldi's Hickory Smoke BBQ Some Chinese-type sauce We need to get some more Bull's Eye as that is my 3 year old's favorite. KC Masterpiece? Yuck. I especially hate those KC Masterpiece chips. Too sweet.
  2. Seeing recent Yost comments about how Hardy should be ready for opening day and that Gwynn should see most starts in April, got me to thinking. 8 out of the 9 starters on opening day could be homegrown. All but Kendall. I know we saw that a few times last year when Sheets or Gallardo started, but it's pretty amazing to have an opening day lineup that is almost entirely home grown. 2B Weeks CF Gwynn 1B Fielder LF Braun RF Hart 3B Hall SS Hardy P Sheets C Kendall
  3. Marquette has 6-10/245 Chris Otule coming in next year. Sounds like a late bloomer (grew 7 inches in a year). Reports say he is very athletic, good hands. Rebounding and shotblocking are his strengths. Unfortunately, the other recruits are guards and wings. I think the ideal lineup would be PG James SG McNeal SF Hayward PF Mbakwe C With Matthews coming off the bench. But with the roster makeup, they may end up with Hayward and Mbakwe down low.
  4. Just one, the basic yellow kind. I'll have it once in a while on a hot dog or hamburger, but I like my brats plain. My wife and son hate mustard. Anyone ever been to the Mustard Museum in Mount Horeb, WI? Some historical stuff along with every kind of mustard imaginable. Some of the samples were nasty. Chocolate mustard? Yuck.
  5. All of the backup catchers played 1B in spring training, since the backup catcher may also be the backup 1B.
  6. I don't know about that. Yost has indicated that the starters are going to be either stating with the Brewers or starting in AAA. McClung is also being stretched out to be the long man. I'd say it looks like a pretty good bet that McClung is the 12th man.
  7. Friday was Sheets day to pitch, since it lines up with opening day. Do they both pitch? Gallardo already is supposed to pitch the minor league game.
  8. I've got to go back and re-read the series: 2001, 2010, 2061 and 3001. It's been a while and the details have started to fade in my mind. I love the books, but I never cared for the 2001 movie. The only book I didn't like and couldn't finish was "Cradle". But that was co-written by Gentry Lee. Since then, I try to stick to books written by Clarke alone.
  9. Wow, Haudicourt thinks Parra will make the team over Villaneuva. http://blogs.jsonline.com/brewers/archive/2008/03/19/a-day-of-rest.aspx They keep mentioning a 35 inning increase as the preferred max. So Parra would be around 165-170 innings.
  10. I believe Gwynn is the only one with an option left, so that might be the deciding factor.
  11. This is a sad day. Arthur C Clarke died in his Sri Lanka home at age 90. He was my favorite author and one of the great Science Fiction writers of the past century. Of course he's best know for writing "2001: A Space Odyssey", but he wrote over 100 books and hundreds of short stories. I'm sure more of his predictions will be coming true in the years to come. RIP. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080319/en_nm/clarke_death_dc_10
  12. I get mine refilled at the local True Value. Costs the same as an exchange and they have a buy 4 get one free card, so I come out ahead.
  13. It's funny, Marquette is in the tourney, but I'm still coming here a lot more than the MU message boards. Even when MU is playing, I find myself posting here while listening to the game.
  14. And Chapman at 1B? I guess it makes sense that he'll see time at 1B to get playing time for all of the outfielders.
  15. How'd you like to go to a funeral at Max Sass Funeral Home? There are a few of them in the area.
  16. Nice day by Brendan Katin. 3 for 6 with 2 doubles, a home run, 6 RBIs, and 3 runs scored. He could have a big year in AAA. Hopefully, he can cut down on the K's and raise his average a bit. There's no denying his power.
  17. Barring any trades, what I think will happen. Starters on opening day: Sheets Suppan Bush Vargas Villaneuva Relievers on opening day: LR: McClung SL: Shouse MR: Torres MR: Mota SU: Turnbow SU: Riske CL: Gagne Gallardo to DL. Parra, Stetter, Choate to AAA. Capuano to AAA, if they can, otherwise Ned goes with 13 pitchers.
  18. Weeks is really the only regular I'm concerned about right now. He's been pretty bad. All of the other starters are doing pretty well defensively.
  19. Ok, so did someone actually rip him a new one?
  20. The difference between Braun and Jenkins will likely be range vs errors. Jenkins rarely committed errors, but didn't have great range. How much is Braun's ability to get to more balls worth? Among starters this spring, Weeks has really been the only week link. Fielder has 1 error and Braun has one (that someone said should have been charged to Weeks). No one else has errors besides Weeks.
  21. Both could make it for the first 25 games, if they drop the silly notion of 13 pitchers. It may come down to whether they want to play Hart in center at all in April. It seems like they want to keep him in right, which would limit Dillion's opportunities. I'm guessing they keep Kapler and a 13th pitcher, until Cameron comes back.
  22. The roof vent/pipe is like a soda straw. If you hold your finger over the top, the soda won't drain out of the straw. The roof vent works the same way.
  23. I don't have cable, so I was listening to Homer and Jimmy Mac on the radio. No question who the leader of this team is. Nice to see Acker step up in the 2nd half and Fitzgerald hit some shots in the first half. MU really needs Cubillian, Fitz, and Acker stepping up their play off the bench. Those guys need to be taking threes when given the chance. Where has Cubillan disappeared to? They can't count on McNeal hitting threes like that every game. Edit: And 2003 was the year that UWM lost to Notre Dame by 1 point in their first NCAA. 1994 was probably the next best run for the state. MU in the Sweet 16, UW won 1 game in their first NCAA tourney in centuries http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif, and UWGB won a game with Dick Bennet at the helm.
  24. It could be a blocked roof vent. That can cause slow draining. Of course, it's not the best time to be going on a roof with all the melting snow and ice.
  25. These diseases are more common than you think. There are a number of diseases that are similar and often come together. MS, Fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue syndrome. My mother-in-law has all three and it's tough. I couldn't imagine trying to play baseball with it.
