This O-line sucks. Not a single starter on the whole line.

Offensive line still feels extremely weak. No push on run plays and the center has to be the worst in a long time. They need someone else at center. So many poor snaps.

He is as stationary as Peyton Manning is today.

It has been bleak the last few seasons. Even if they have a bad record it is nice to have something to be excited about again.

Packers tank for Manning in '27? I think that is when he is available to be drafted.

Not sure how patient the Brewers can be as Chourio and Black will be in year-1 in AAA next year. Gasser already has a 1+ years in AAA so he should be ready. That leaves Misio, Quero, Rodriguez (RHP) and Wilken as the prospects the Brewers would be waiting on next and they are all in AA and AAA and then you also have Brown. Wilken probably starts out in AA but Misio, Quero and Rodriguez all probably start out in AAA. That AAA roster is already getting packed and you have to keep some organizational guys in there to move up and down from AAA - MLB club for injuries. This isn't even taking into consideration what you would be getting back for Burnes. If you go more than 2-years I think you have to throw in the won't offer a QO after the third year type of a deal.

If Middleton is fully healthy he will be the one to gain the most from having Dame on the team. Teams are going to try to take away the long range from Dame and the short from Giannis which allows Middleton to operate where he is the best in the mid-range. This should be an exciting season.

I disagree on the Rangers not being one of the best teams in baseball at any point during the regular season. All the way up to the point the Rangers played the Brewers they were on pace for a 90+ win season. The Rangers are definitely championship worthy. They only lost the division on the last series of the year. If they win one more game they are the #2 seed in the AL. How is that not a championship worthy team? The Rangers went 90-72. That is definitely a championship worthy team.

I think this would be what a Burnes trade to the Padres looks like, I previously posted this in the 2023-2024 Offseason Ideas thread. Padres get Burnes Brewers get Snelling (LHP), Zavala (OF) and Lizarraga (RHP) Other possible trades: Burnes to the Mets Mauricio (2B) and Clifford (OF) to the Brewers Braves get Burnes Brewers get Waldrep (RHP) and Ignacio Alvarez (3B) A completely insane never gonna happen deal!!!! Yankees get Yelich and Burnes Brewers get Stanton (DH), Jones (OF), Arias (SS), Thorpe (RHP) and $20mm. This would solve the DH problem for the Brewers and would save about $15mm going off the base salary for both players for the Brewers. I am not sure the Yankees or the Brewers would do this but weirder things have happened.

More along the lines of poor offensive line play after week 1. The reason Love looked so good in week 1 is because he had no pressure at all from the Bears defense and even their blitzes were picked up. The closest a Bears DL got to Love was when he was under center presnap. The Bears had 2 QB pressures in the whole game. It is easy when the other team isn’t pressuring you to make passes with a defender in your face. After week 1 Love saw more pressure and more hits. Looking at week 1 and saying he looks bad since then is not really fair. The Falcons game is probably where you want to start the evaluation of Love.

I remember requesting Alvarez along with Puig for a Braun deal. Others wanted Bellinger plus at the time which was completely unrealistic and ridiculous. I was told for Braun the Brewers needed someone better than Alvarez at the time.

Is it too early to be thinking about the 2027 draft? An interesting name to follow is 17-year old Rintaro Sasaki from Japan. Call me crazy but I think Maye is better than Williams and will be the #1 pick in next years draft.

I still say Love is closer to Cutler. Some said this was incorrect and he would be better than Cutler. But I stand by what I said a few years ago Love is Cutler. Nearly the exact same QB. -
I think this might work for a 2024 soft rebuild: Braves get Adames Brewers get Grissom and Alvarez (3B) Padres get Burnes Brewers get Snelling (LHP), Zavala (OF) and Lizarraga (RHP) Rangers get Williams Brewers get Foscue (2B), Leiter and Echedry Vargas (2B/SS) In the Braves trade Grissom becomes the 2B for the Brewers in '24 moving Turang over to SS with an exciting 3B prospect in Alvarez in A ball. In the Padres trade the Brewers get a really good LHP who can start for the Brewers in '25 with an exciting 19 year old OF in A+ ball. Lizarraga maybe the best piece coming back. In the Rangers trade the Brewers are getting insurance in case Grissom doesn't pan out at 2B in Foscue. Leiter maybe the name piece but I have him going to the Brewers as I think they will think they can fix him with their pitching lab and get him back to what he was coming out of Vanderbilt. Vargas is a wild card here he could be really good or he may just be all hype with the bat. If the Brewers can fix Leiter that could give them a rotation in '25 of Peralta, Gasser, Rodriguez, Misio, Leiter and Snelling. With Lizarraga possibly in AA or AAA. Offensively Foscue is probably the more complete player and he is a really good bat to ball hitter with some pop 20+ HR's a year type of power. These trades would be for the '25-'26 seasons.

Crude did jump over 4% today. Which depending on future actions in the area could make it jump higher. The market may correct itself if all out war occurs in the Middle East.

Not sure where to put this but flag football is a possibility as an Olympic game for the 2028 Olympics along with cricket and lacrosse. I would love to see lacrosse but I’m not holding my breath on that one. Flag football would be interesting.

I would love to see two more teams in the playoffs plus adding a one game playoffs for the draft order. The first 8 picks would be up for grabs with reverse standings order. The worst team in MLB getting the 1 seed etc. The final game for the #1 pick would be at a neutral site rotating around teams with domed or retractable roof stadiums. So Milwaukee, Houston, Phoenix, etc. would host the games kind of like a SB rotation. No 40 man requirements and participation in the games doesn’t count towards service time. max roster size of 30. If the MVP is a top 100 or former top 100 prospect within 1-year of the end of the season then that team gets an additional pick after comp B picks or $500k in international bonus money. Only revenue receiving teams and teams not over the spending cap at the beginning of the season can participate in this tournament.

Not going to happen. If they make a change it will be adding more teams to the playoffs not less.
