  1. Without seeing Rasmussen yet, that’s a tall order. K-Rod has a slider that was the best I had ever seen, and he was throwing straight gas when not many guys did.
  2. TJseven7, traditionally the Brewers made such moves around the end of the 1st half, or even in early July.
  3. I remember when our future rotation was going to be led by guys like Nick Neugebauer, JM Gold, Mark Rogers, Mike Jones, Jose Mieses, Paul Stewart, etc. I like what I'm reading, but I've learned to temper my enthusiasm.
  4. Driving on a road trip now, so listened to Jim Powell on the drive. They said the play where Counsell was ejected was unreviewable, but should have been foul. And earlier this week the Brewers thought they threw someone out on the same play and it was ruled foul. Amazing how every Brewers replay or call seems to go against them
  5. We have to be the worst team in the league with bases loaded. That’s like the 6th time this week we’ve left them loaded
  6. It’s been widely reported in newspapers, websites, and mentioned on Brewers broadcasts all week
  7. If Gamel weren't playing so well as a 4th OF, he'd be a great pickup. Agree with others, I'd like him on a high-paying minor league deal
  8. I'd like to see us draft hitters. We built our incredible run from 2007 through now with stud hitters. I like drafting hitters early, pitchers heavily after around round 4.
  9. I swear we lose most of our seemingly obvious challenges, and we lose most of the seemingly foolish opponent challenges
  10. It's been mentioned repeatedly by Counsell and Stearns in the media. Given the nagging nature of blisters and calluses, they want to make sure it responds like normal, plus it keeps him sharp while evaluating where he goes. He could very well slot into Peralta's spot with a bad start, or return to short/long relief where he was pretty good except 1-2 outings.
  11. Nope. A player on the MLB IL cannot also be on a minor league roster or IL. They simply would recall someone off the rehab assignment for evaluation.
  12. What does a GED coordinator do? I've always heard of kids just dropping out of school and getting their GEDs--in other words they get it outside of school not through school.
  13. CC got a good look, he pitched him numerous times in ST. Another potential Claudio with better stuff. supposedly a good athlete as well, because didn't some teams value his outfield play more than pitching?
  14. Absolutely fantastic take! This is THE key to title. We have a good opportunity for a “super pen” at some point this year in my opinion. We could have it now with woody Burnes and peralta to pen, but hurt starting staff too much. Mid-season more realistic with a hopefully healthy jeffress.Brown,Woody,Guerra pitching 2-3 innings, Claudio, Knebel, Hader, Jeffress,Kimbrel. With our line-up and rotation > best team in baseball. Even with-out Kimbrel maybe. Well with Burnes in the pen now, Peralta being groomed for the pen when Anderson back, we are 2 arms closer to the superpen that will win a title. When Nelson is back, another multi-inning arm to the pen, so that will be 3. June 1: Peralta (multi-inning) Anderson (multi-inning) Albers Claudio Jeffress Burnes Guerra Hader With Woodruff and Nelson in the rotation, then later in the year, the crew might want to protect Nelson and Woody’s innings so maybe one or both to the bullpen creating the superpen. Imo, jeffress the key, if he can get close to last year’s jj we’d be unbeatable if we led after 4. Playoffs: Starters- Nelson Gio Chacín Davies Superpen- Peralta Anderson Woodruff Claudio Jeffress Burnes Guerra Hader I wouldn’t call Peralta’s role as being part of the pen. I think they like the timing getting him ready and bringing him in better than having him warm up and then sit around during the anthem and announcements.
  15. Just saw Nick Ramirez was called up by the Tigers. I always hoped he'd make it to MLB as a power reliever lefty with potent bat
  16. Hoping for the best from Dula! I remember working in Dbacks minor league spring training when every played wanted to go watch Jason Neighborgall throw BP sessions. Of course, they all wanted to stand behind the pitcher, not the catcher. His career numbers were insane
  17. I really think the key is that Burnes needs to follow Woodruff's plan of attacking hitters the same from the rotation and pen. Too many guys nibble and mess around when starting. You could see Woodruff develop that "look" last year that you see from stud pitchers. I've always been impressed how the Cards break kids in out in the pen where they learn to attack, then they transition seamlessly to the rotation. Now if we want to mix the Cards' method with the A's method (Hudson, Mulder, Zito, Harden, Harang, etc), we should try to get 5-6 years out of the pitchers and then let them walk or trade them for a boat-load of prospects. I've always liked the idea of keeping guys around for a while, but once a pitcher makes too much, they've probably logged a lot of innings and are full of value
  18. especially when they often make you wait 30-45 mins. My big question is why do I have to fill out the same background/health history paperwork every time. wouldn't my doctor already know if there has been any changes to my health history
  19. His minor league numbers have always been good. One would think that he just needs a chance. And at worst, tell him to focus on left-handed
  20. Or he could be added to the 40-man roster and developed as a starter for the next 2-3 years.
  21. not really, this was all said at the end of spring training as the plan--versatility!
  22. Man, Devin Williams sure is racking up the Ks. Wonder if they’re being cautious with him or if they view him more as a 2-3 inning stud than a starter
  23. He just completed his 2nd big league no-hitter. Always liked him as a Brewer, and loved his story of being drafted at a late age and advancing quickly. Forgot how much I loved his arsenal until watching the last few innings tonight. What a curve!
  24. I'd like to consider Pat Venditte. He's really just needed a consistent chance in the majors. Saw he was DFA'd
