  1. I’m pretty sure that there’s a better than average chance that I drive down the three hours to take in a game or two. Bonus is that I am “scheduled” to appear in Phoenix for federal jury duty in March (I’m on call for the whole month—ugh!) so that might help me get to a couple more games, as well.
  2. Certainly not the way I thought my Thursday night would turn out. I'm saddened as Burnes has been a stalwart with this club for a number of years. Yes, his numbers have declined since the Cy Young season but that's no shocker--his numbers were kinda out of this world and reeked over regression on the horizon. But, still, he's been a Brewer and really, dang good one. I will certainly miss him a lot. And, who knows what he even provides Baltimore? A 4.00 ERA this year? Worse? Arm trouble? Or maybe the veteran leadership the Baltimore craves right now with a young club and he'll bring some Andy Pettitte-like guidance to that club, even with only some so-so numbers. It will be fun to watch how it plays out in Baltimore. For us, I think the writing is on the wall with Adames. He's probably dealt at the trading deadline at the latest and, possibly, still before the season starts (a trade during spring training would be interesting!) I don't know much about Ortiz but it looks like we dealt for him to be an heir apparent for a least a few years--I really hope he doesn't scream as another shortstop top prospect that is a flop after a year or two. I do like DL Hall. His stuff seems pretty good. It will be interesting to see what the pitching lab can do with him. That name, though LOL. I'm willing to pass judgment in September, not February 1st. Go Brewers! (8 weeks to the day until Opening Day!!!!)
  3. Kansas City Chiefs again……that bugs me
  4. It will be very interesting seeing how Pat Murphy will put a roster together after spring training. With Counsell gone, will that mean we won't have a scrappy, toolsey player(s) that is put on the roster ahead of clearly better players? I've liked Wilken since they drafted him, so I hope they are sorta fast-tracking him and, hopefully, in the starting lineup by April 2025.
  5. I saw that the Twins will not have local blackouts this season. I hope that starts a trend!
  6. I can’t give enough thumbs up for this!! I watch it yearly. Sometimes with various commentaries or whatnot turned on just for a different take. The one time I watched it on “sport mode” on my tv was kinda epic. (Your mileage may vary)
  7. And today marked the end of the least surprising MLB Awards season in a long time. . . .
  8. I’ll admit that I took it kinda hard last night and some tears were shed. I’m beginning to realize that my chances of seeing a Brewers title or even another WS appearance are starting to run out. It did not help that, on Tuesday, a good friend of mine from the Milwaukee area, said that “word around town is that Uecker is done after this year.” Not sure about how much truth there is to this rumor, but it just hurt really hard just thinking about it, so every time Ueck was talking, it all came flooding in that this could be the last game I hear him. Thankfully, his post game comments made it seem like he’d be back in the spring. But that may have just been a smoke screen, too. And the guy turns 90 (!) in January (?) so I’ve been preparing for it for a while anyway.
  9. A hundred-some days til Spring Training!!!!
  10. Whereas I appreciate the response, this doesn’t help my situation here in Arizona, I don’t believe. Thank you for responding, though. (Seriously. No sarcasm implied.)
  11. That was pretty cool. I may have to save that to watch every opening day.
  12. Perhaps a dumb question but I don’t see anything on the mlbtv app. is Ballys doing pre and post game stuff on the local channels? For those of us out of market, i can’t see them UNLESS Ballys Wisconsin is airing them, in which I guess I can subscribe to the sports pack on DIRECTV to see them. Unless there’s some other way to see them…..
  13. I expect this game, and many across MLB, to be completed in a bit over 2 hours. Some games will be less than 2 hours, as players just want to get their vacation underway.
  14. I hope they keep Devin away from all the walls. Or at least wrap him in bubble wrap!
  15. Pretty poor showing at the plate the last three games. Pressure? Or just “baseball?” Either way, my wife is stressing me out with her living and dying on every pitch (and cussing things out for the most part.)
  16. Here is the actual calculation: 163 – (1st place team wins) – (2nd place team losses) = Magic Number
  17. I just want to see the Brewers bring back the elastic-band snap-waist pants!
  18. Jaylen Reed today or Jaxon Smith-Njigba?
  19. Sunday Ticket on YouTube first impressions (30 minutes in): 1. Scott Hanson talks way too much. All the stuff he talked about during the first five minutes (talking over the kickoffs, for instance) could have been done if they came on 8 minutes before kickoffs (like DIRECTV always did, allowing Siciliano to do all that pregame talk before the games actually start.). And his voice cracks like a 12-year old any time something is exciting. Siciliano was much better at this, especially the talking too much. 2. The audio is off. Hanson sounds way too tinny. The crowd sounds like I am hearing it through a cardboard wrapping paper tube. This needs to be improved. It hurts my ears. NEVER had this problem with Directv’s red one, which had a good mix of treble AND bass. 3. The switches from game to game are much more quick on this version of red zone. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing but it’s so quick they if you’re not paying attention, you might have missed that they changed. This is where Hanson DOES need to talk, telling me there’s a switch. I'm sure things will improve but so far call me less than impressed. I can’t wait for them to have other issues. (I’m not even going to the whole “25-76 seconds behind real time” thing) or the local games forcing you to change inputs on your tv to switch back and forth between out-of-market games and the local one.
  20. I’ll take it, but there’s a lot of baseball left. I’m optimistically hopeful.
  21. Am I watching a replay from last season? Ugh!
  22. The more things change, the more they stay the same. sigh First quarter just as blah as before
  23. I am hopeful that something similar will happen. This is a different kind of excitement and anticipation that I haven’t had for this team. To see a Badger squad being a threat through the air as well as the ground? It’s been a while….(Russell Wilson?) I'm hoping for 41-7
  24. I used Dane Iorg in one that involved STL and World Series champions. That got 0.03% the lowest I've seen when I've tried to play. I guess that's sort of Brewers related, but not to your specific grid.
  25. Wasn't there an article/story/rumor that came out when uniform patches were still rather new about how the Brewers were going to put local tavern patches on their uniforms. I laughed so hard at the absurdity that I kind of wished that they had done it. That would've been great!😄
