  1. That was pretty cool. I may have to save that to watch every opening day.
  2. Perhaps a dumb question but I don’t see anything on the mlbtv app. is Ballys doing pre and post game stuff on the local channels? For those of us out of market, i can’t see them UNLESS Ballys Wisconsin is airing them, in which I guess I can subscribe to the sports pack on DIRECTV to see them. Unless there’s some other way to see them…..
  3. I expect this game, and many across MLB, to be completed in a bit over 2 hours. Some games will be less than 2 hours, as players just want to get their vacation underway.
  4. I hope they keep Devin away from all the walls. Or at least wrap him in bubble wrap!
  5. Pretty poor showing at the plate the last three games. Pressure? Or just “baseball?” Either way, my wife is stressing me out with her living and dying on every pitch (and cussing things out for the most part.)
  6. Here is the actual calculation: 163 – (1st place team wins) – (2nd place team losses) = Magic Number
  7. I just want to see the Brewers bring back the elastic-band snap-waist pants!
  8. Jaylen Reed today or Jaxon Smith-Njigba?
  9. Sunday Ticket on YouTube first impressions (30 minutes in): 1. Scott Hanson talks way too much. All the stuff he talked about during the first five minutes (talking over the kickoffs, for instance) could have been done if they came on 8 minutes before kickoffs (like DIRECTV always did, allowing Siciliano to do all that pregame talk before the games actually start.). And his voice cracks like a 12-year old any time something is exciting. Siciliano was much better at this, especially the talking too much. 2. The audio is off. Hanson sounds way too tinny. The crowd sounds like I am hearing it through a cardboard wrapping paper tube. This needs to be improved. It hurts my ears. NEVER had this problem with Directv’s red one, which had a good mix of treble AND bass. 3. The switches from game to game are much more quick on this version of red zone. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing but it’s so quick they if you’re not paying attention, you might have missed that they changed. This is where Hanson DOES need to talk, telling me there’s a switch. I'm sure things will improve but so far call me less than impressed. I can’t wait for them to have other issues. (I’m not even going to the whole “25-76 seconds behind real time” thing) or the local games forcing you to change inputs on your tv to switch back and forth between out-of-market games and the local one.
  10. I’ll take it, but there’s a lot of baseball left. I’m optimistically hopeful.
  11. Am I watching a replay from last season? Ugh!
  12. The more things change, the more they stay the same. sigh First quarter just as blah as before
  13. I am hopeful that something similar will happen. This is a different kind of excitement and anticipation that I haven’t had for this team. To see a Badger squad being a threat through the air as well as the ground? It’s been a while….(Russell Wilson?) I'm hoping for 41-7
  14. I used Dane Iorg in one that involved STL and World Series champions. That got 0.03% the lowest I've seen when I've tried to play. I guess that's sort of Brewers related, but not to your specific grid.
  15. Wasn't there an article/story/rumor that came out when uniform patches were still rather new about how the Brewers were going to put local tavern patches on their uniforms. I laughed so hard at the absurdity that I kind of wished that they had done it. That would've been great!😄
  16. I joked with my cousin that maybe someone should set up a GoFundMe for the Brewers. I'd contribute. I don't want the team moving to freakin' Nashville or anywhere else. Maybe there's enough other fans around the country/world that would want to keep the team in Milwaukee, too. I understand that people don't want to pay taxes. And there are plenty of people that don't give two hoots about the Milwaukee Brewers or any sports teams.
  17. That was pretty wild. I still remember attending a Brewers-Twins game at County Stadium and Jim Gantner and Steve Lombardozzi got into it at second base, causing a Donnybrook with several side fights. My cousin and I were loving it. Our fathers gave us death stares to “knock it off” and stop promoting the violence. I need to look this up. If I remember correctly it was either the day Roger Maris died or the day Kate Smith (of “God Bless America” fame) died. I was at both games only because I remember them making a big deal about both on the County Stadium scoreboard And, yes, my dad and my uncle both were very sad about both announcements.
  18. if you could 100% guarantee that the Brewers were going to make the World Series with Shohei on the Brewers roster (not necessarily win it, but at least make it that far) I think I would make that trade nine times out of ten, even if it cost Chourio, or any of the others. If it cost all three? I think that would be too high of a price. But no one can guarantee that. No one. So I'll keep my choice of "amusement".
  19. He's the Jim Gantner on this club, except for Bryce has excellent defense as opposed to average (maybe above average?) defense. I still enjoy seeing him play ball. Maybe he'll improve next year. And maybe not. I'm willing to give the kid some time. I don't think anybody thought he would be a top notch, can't miss hitter when he was drafted, or am I incorrect?
  20. I still think that a lot of Burnes' resurgence in the last handful of starts is due from him knowing / being told that he will not be traded. All season long, he seemed (to me) to be pressing--"I gotta make a good start in case I get traded" [doesn't make a good start] "Dammit, now I gotta be even better the next time!" etc. etc. I think it got in his head. Since that alleged talk with Matt Arnold in NYC, he's been lights out, almost as if he now fully relax and play ball without the pressure of possibly screwing up his trade value. Just my take. . . .
  21. What’s with Bally’s doing the “green screen”ish digital adds behind the plate and on the mound? It’s distracting (because it’s different and looks unnatural)
  22. I do find it interesting that our offense and the fun (read as: a different looking team compared to last season) seemed to disappear once Garrett Mitchell was shelved for (presumably) the season. To me, it seems like he was something of an “igniter” (not to be confused with the “Ignitor”) for this team, with his energy being a catalyst for the hitters. Don’t get me wrong: both Turang and Weimar have some of that energy, but they’re both rookies and learning how things work, while Mitchell, at least, had a bit of time last year with success. I am hopeful that the Crew can at least hang in there and maybe make a move or two at the deadline.
  23. Maybe this will be like Henry Rowengartner, only in reverse!
  24. As others said, it seems that he got a bit “testy” (to use a Uecker-word) once he got hit by that line drive. I’d hate to see us give up on him, but it is the nature of a rule five player. He certainly has flashes of goodness. As for Gott and Topa, it’s the same thing. They flashed some good stuff for us but weren’t consistently good (or healthy, in Topa’s case.). There’s no guarantee they would have performed for the Brewers this season the same way they have in Seattle (due to coaching, usage, or some other intangibles.). You tip your hat to them for finally finding “it” and you wish them luck. Relievers are a dime a dozen and seem to be the one position where you can be great one year and absolutely crummy the next. And everyone accepts that.
  25. I think, at this time, it is unlikely that he would be back this season. But I'm sure, as always, there is a slight chance that he could be available at the end of September and into October. But, again, this is extremely unlikely.
