    Biloxi has taken the lead here top of eight. Casey Martin ROE and Adam Hall catchers interference put two for a Dylan O’Rae RBI single to make it 4 to 3. DO’R has stolen second and Carlos Rodriguez the outfielder has walked to load the bases. And a Darrien Miller sac fly makes it 5 to 3.

    TJ Shook gets out of a runners on second and third with one out jam by getting the big K for out number two and a groundout to complete the Houdini act. Still tied three three through seven complete.

    Kevin Herget went 1-2-3 with a strikeout in the seventh to lower his ERA to 2.86 on the season. But Ryan Middendorf gave up two runs in the eighth as Nashville now trails 7 to 4 heading to the bottom half. Isaac Collins has singled to lead things off.

    Shuckers have tied it at three apiece after picking up a pair of runs top of four. Darrien Miller walked, moved to second on an EBJ groundout, then scored on an EMJ single. Lamar Sparks singled and Casey Martin reached on error to load the bases with an Adam Hall HBP scoring the tying run. Bo Bowman on in relief on Shane Smith and goes 1-2-3 with a strikeout in the bottom half.

    Mudcats go final with a 7 to 1 loss. Anfernny Reyes struck out a pair in a perfect ninth. Satchell Norman (triple, single), Yhoswar Garcia (single, walk) and David Garcia (two walks) each got on twice.

    Carlos Rodriguez gave up a three run jack in the fifth then a solo shot to lead off the sixth. Then went on to load the bases with a walk, bunt single and HBP. James Meeker came on and got a run scoring groundout and a pair of strikeouts to keep the score at 5-4 Memphis.

    Apparently so. Went back and looked at the GameDay for all twelve homers Hiura hit with Salt Lake. None of them were in the upper third of the zone. All twelve were either middle or lower third.

    Saul Sanchez goes three up three down three strikeouts in the bottom of the seventh for DSL Uno, who currently have a 9 to 3 lead over the Dodgers Bautista squad in the top of the eighth. Victor Garcia also pitched a pair of scoreless, hitless frames with 1 HBP | 3 BB | 4 K.

    The Brewers have played Black exclusively at 1B this year aside from one game at third where he made two errors. If the plan were to play Black all around the infield at some point down the road, he’d be getting reps at those positions. That he isn’t getting reps at those other positions seems to imply the Brewers don’t believe he is up to their defensive standards as a 2B/3B.

    Mike Maroth went 9-21 for the 2003 Tigers. Closest since then has been Chris Archer and James Shields, who both lost 19 games in 2016.

    I had Barrios at #16 on my last BF Top 20 ballot due to the contact skills, defense, speed and performance as one of the younger players in the Midwest League. Big things holding him back are lack of power and rarely walking to this point, that puts a lot of pressure on the hit tool if he’s ever going to be more than a backup SS, but still a pretty safe high floor kind of profile. As much as I liked his game, he’s the perfect kind of depth to deal in a move like this with Turang and Ortiz already producing in MLB, Cooper Pratt having a higher ceiling and then the various DSL infielders off to hot starts this summer.

    Obviously arbitrary endpoints and all that, but the offense was firing on all cylinders for the first quarter or so of the season and has been decidedly more average since then... thru May 15th 118 wRC+ | 5.19 R/G since May 17th 100 wRC+ | 4.50 R/G Between this essentially being the first year of a new window, the amount of perceived ground between the Brewers and teams like the Phillies/Dodgers/Braves atop the NL, and the lack of impact talent with long term control likely to be dealt at the deadline, I'm not sure the circumstances are quite right yet for the Brewers to push all their chips in.
