  1. Not much action for the offense but some hard hit balls through the third include a 107 MPH double and 106 MPH groundout from Tyler Black, a 110 MPH Jeferson Quero groundout, and a 109 MPH Juan Ortuno groundout.
  2. GameDay has the full on StatCast experience tonight. Looks like Dubanewicz is working with a sinker/four seam in the 92-94 MPH range, a 78-80 MPH curve, and a 80-82 MPH slider. Went three up three down three groundouts in the third.
  3. Dubanewicz worked around a pair of walks in the first, but gave up a run in the second surrendering a double and triple. Three of his six outs have come via strikeout.
  4. Lineup for this evening’s action from the Arizona Complex League… Tyler Black 1B Jeferson Quero C Jorge Quintana SS Handelfry Encarnacion RF Kevin Garcia DH Juan Ortuno 2B Kevin Ereu 3B Jadyn Fielder LF Engel Paulino CF Jayden Dubanewicz P
  5. Kind of interesting looking at Turang as a point of comparison for Pratt. The pandemic delayed Brice’s AA debut until his age 21 season, but he hit 264/329/385 (100 wRC+) with an 8.8 BB% | 15.0 K% over 320 PAs before being promoted to AAA to finish out the year. Cooper is in his age 20 season and has put up a pretty similar 252/337/388 (113 wRC+) triple slash with a 9.4 BB% | 15.3 K% over 170 PAs to open the year.
  6. TRats surrender two in the top half and can’t get em back this time falling 8-6 in eleven.
  7. Most games under .500 by season per BREF… 2017 (3) 2018 (1) 2019 (never under .500) 2020 (4) 2021 (2) 2022 (2) 2023 (1) 2024 (never under .500) Looks like Cory was right. So we’re about eight years overdue for a stretch like this.
  8. Blayberg Diaz up with a chance to atone for his passed ball and catcher’s interference in the ninth, but he pops out. On to the eleventh.
  9. Single and a sac fly score the Manfred Man in the top half. Guilarte pinch runs for Burke to open the TRats half and is promptly replaced at second base by Eduardo Garcia with an RBI double to tie it back up.
  10. Jesus Broca loads the bases with an HBP but gets the third out to keep it a tie ballgame. Hedbert, Jadher, Burke due up bottom nine to try & walk it off.
  11. Herron double, Dalbec single, EMJ walk and a Raynel Delgado single got two more back in the 8th. Freddy Zamora single and Oliver Dunn double gets another back in the ninth. Dalbec fouls off seven straight two out full count pitches before working the 13 pitch walk. Still a sliver of a chance.
  12. Jimmy Herron walk & a Bobby Dalbec dinger get NASH their first two runs of the game top of six. Just need eight more to tie it up.
  13. Garrett Hodges on for the ninth in Carolina and goes 6-3, BB, 5-4-3 to secure the Mudcats victory.
  14. No worries, Carolina answers back with a Di Turi double then singles from Walling and Nadal to get the run back.
  15. Tanner gives up his first hit to lead off the fifth, then Baez made an error to put two on nobody out but Gillis comes back with the strikeout and 3-6-1 double play to get out with a zero.
  16. Bases loaded for Peña who grounds into a 5-2 putout then departs the game for pinch runner Eric Bitonti.
  17. Lameda walked followed by singles from Nadal and Eric Martinez to load the bases for a Jesus Made walk, extending the lead to 8-4.
  18. Flores dealing, another one two three (2 K) frame in the seventh. That’s three perfect with 5 K total.
  19. Tanner Gillis has put up three scoreless (2 BB | 2 K) so far in his TRats debut.
