  1. Tanner Gillis has put up three scoreless (2 BB | 2 K) so far in his TRats debut.
  2. Ashby’s made four rehab appearances so far…1.1 IP on the complex (no pitch count available) then a pair of two inning outings (41 and 34 pitches) before one inning / ten pitches his last time out. Days between appearances were 3, 3, then 2. Looks like they are prepping him for a relief role, which would be my preference too.
  3. Jesus Flores on in the fifth and goes one two three (2 K). & Reece Walling leads off the bottom half with a double.
  4. Made walks and Luis Peña goes deep to get the Mudcat lead back to three at 7-4.
  5. Carolina batters couldn’t come through but a balk did get one Mudcat home stretching the lead to 5-2 after three.
  6. Carolina adding on in the third with a Luis Peña single, Marco Dinges HBP and Filippo Di Turi scoring a fourth Mudcat run. Reece Walling has walked to load em up with one out.
  7. A pair of two out walks by Demetrio Nadal and Tyler Rodriguez set the stage for a three run bomb from #9 hitter Eric Martinez to put Carolina up 3-2 after two innings
  8. Welch put up a zero in the 2nd with a lil help from Marco Dinges gunning down a runner on the bases. 39 pitches after two in what will likely be an abbreviated second start of the week for Chandler,
  9. Chandler Welch walked a batter before surrendering a two run bomb but bounced back to strikeout the last two batters of the first inning.
  10. Orioles are a good case of careful what you wish for when it comes to wanting a new owner. Angelos family had clearly run their course, they finally get a wave of young talent, a new owner, and their big moves are trading for a year of Burnes, then signing Tyler O’Neill and a some ancient SPs. Still haven’t won a playoff game since 2014 either.
  11. Just the absolute biggest of bummers for Rodriguez and Seigler. Hope they can both have successful recoveries, get back out there and crack an MLB roster at some point. (& hopefully Corobo was just a precautionary early pull for something minor) Will be curious what the resulting moves are with how slow they’ve been rolling Quero’s rehab. Could we see Wes Clarke don the tools of ignorance for the first time with Nashville?
  12. Things didn’t go quite so smoothly for Yanez in the eighth as he surrendered a pair of runs to tie the game back up. AZ Brew took the lead back top of nine with a two base E5 and Engel Paulino single. Cesar Espinal on to close it out and he goes four up three down (1 H | 2 K) to pick up the save.
  13. Oh man, Eduardo Garcia goes deep to walk it off for Wisco in Game 2. That’s two 1-0 wins for the TRats today.
  14. Complex Crew has come back to take the lead 7-5 top eight highlighted by a Gery Holguin home run and doubles from Handelfry Encarnacion & Pedro Ibarguen. Jose Meneses threw three scoreless relief frames with 1 BB | 3 K while Ismael Yanez went four up three down (1 HBP | 3 K) in the seventh.
  15. If every other team in the org has to lose for Wisco to win one (maybe two) games, well that would be some kinda voodoo that I don’t wanna mess with.
  16. Yeah, radio silence on the feed for long stretches, then there’ll be a bunch of updates. Reminds of that Mitch Hedberg joke about how he likes to pinch off the microphone cord like a garden hose & when he lets it go the jokes come out all at once. Notables so far include…three Crew errors…Corobo subbed out after a couple innings…Quintana and manager Rafael Neda both ejected…trailing 5-2 top five, bases loaded one out.
  17. Lineup for the Complex Crew tonight… Tyler Black LF Jeferson Quero DH Jorge Quintana SS Handelfry Encarnacion CF Luis Corobo C Kevin Ereu 2B Frederi Montero 3B Pedro Ibarguen RF Gery Holguin 1B Enderson Mercado P
  18. Contenders with bad 1B production so far this year...SFG (54 wRC+), SEA (58 wRC+), KCR (60 wRC+), HOU (86 wRC+), TEX (89 wRC+), Contenders with bad DH production so far this year...TEX (45 wRC+), KCR (78 wRC+), HOU (87 wRC+), SFG (94 wRC+). TEX, SFG, KCR and HOU could all probably use some 1B/DH help if things don't pick up for them by the deadline.
  19. The three March blowouts are still skewing the whole season numbers big time. Full Season 4.15 ERA (22nd) | 4.40 FIP (23rd) 0401 thru 0515 3.39 ERA (6th) | 3.83 FIP (14th)
  20. I would guess WED if he gets the call. Brewers prefer to give guys five days between starts as much as possible and TUE would only be four. You should be lined up for Henderson if that’s any consolation though.
  21. The opening series and last couple weeks have been ugly, no doubt, but in between all that April offered a glimpse of what this team is capable of. A 16 W - 11 L record that put them among the top eight teams in MLB for the month by W%. A 2.95 ERA (3rd) backed up by a still decent 3.66 FIP (12th). Seven above average regulars - Hoskins (143 wRC+), Chourio (126 wRC+), Contreras (122 wRC+), Frelick (121 wRC+), Turang (121 wRC+), Yelich (115 wRC+), and Durbin (114 wRC+). Three solid bench players - Haase (130 wRC+), Collins (93 wRC+), and Bauers (92 wRC+). Those 27 April games represent 61% of the season at this still early juncture so just need to get back to the kind of baseball they’ve been playing for most of the year (& then keep playing like that for most of the rest of the season).
  22. Daurys Mora gets the call for the 10th and goes K-F8-double-K to put the wraps on a 6-5 victory for the AZ Brew and a 5 W - 0 L day for the affiliates. The Complex Cubs remain undewinned.
  23. Corobo singled, Quintana stole 3rd, Fielder walked. Loaded em up for Engel Paulino with two outs, but he strikes out.
  24. E5 makes it a 6-4 lead with Quintana on first, no outs.
  25. & Jose Anderson wastes no time driving home the Corporeal Runner with a leadoff triple to start the tenth.
