    I understand the desire to send Abner back out for the 8th. In hindsight, could we have used Grant Anderson in 7th or 8th? Bad pitches happen. Just 25 pitches today in 1.2 IP for Uribe. Probably just bad luck.

    Myers and Priester seem like a good comparison. 1-2 lottery tickets plus comp pick is different than decent MLB ready bat to help us in 2025, in my opinion.

    Has the first half of the 2024 or 2025 regular season been more enjoyable? I appreciate it is more important how a season ends. Both 2024 and 2025 teams might finish with 55 wins at the break.

    It’s not catcher, 2B, CF or RF. A stud 1B? Collins has been fine in LF Yelich will continue to get AB at DH Durbin has played pretty well at 3B. A good SS, I guess. But who is that? You could move Turang to SS and get a 2B?

    Civale is 0-4 with 5.40 ERA, 5.60 FIP, 5 K/9 for White Sox. Hard to take that into free agency

    Miller strained his forearm. No timeline yet. Hard to believe it’s been six years since he was with the Brewers. Bednar has been quite good since his April demotion to AAA. He could be our 7th inning guy? 🤷‍♂️ Finnegan is good but if our community loses our mind after every Yophery Rodriguez trade do we want to give up any lottery tickets for a couple dozen innings of Finnegan when we have impact arms in Nashville or returning from injury?

    Fair points. Quintana for one decent lottery ticket rather than two seems like fair value to me. I’m not a GM, though 🙂

    It is worth remembering that every major league team could’ve had Jose Quintana for essentially nothing during free agency. Quintana’s ERA says good starter. His FIP says he is teetering on being ineffective. Quintana is essentially the same pitcher he has usually been this season. It’s hard to imagine getting much more than a lottery ticket. Sometimes lottery tickets turn into Freddy Peralta.

    Could we use one of our starters in relief? Murphy doesn’t seem to rest Contreras enough for backup catcher to matter. Plus, Haase has .736 OPS in Milwaukee over 133 PA. I think we need good hitters in general. All our hitters, except Ortiz until recent, have all been pleasantly above average. Hard to be mad at above average but hard to win playoff games if all we are is above average.

    That said, Ortiz seems to be in the dog house. We could add SS or 2B and slide Turang over if necessary. I am glad we almost certainly cannot add a reliever.
