  1. Dodgers go 0-5, Padres go 2-3, Brewers win out. Brewers 94-68 LA 93-69 SD 93-69 Not mathematically.
  2. Hader with the 4-out save for the Astros last night.
  3. Padres sweep Dodgers. Own the tiebreaker already over LA, 7-3 so far. They sneak into division title. Phillies go 1-3 the last four games. Brewers go 5-0 to finish the season. Padres, Brewers get the 1 and 2. Philly plays the Mets in WC round. LA gets the Dbacks. Make it happen.
  4. Throw strikes, Joe Ross. come on.
  5. Yikes, Sanchez has been poor tonight.
  6. I don't understand your comment, either. Maybe it's me. eta: Never mind. I got it.
  7. I truly believe that the Brewer defenders would have caught both of the RBI hits that the Pirate defenders couldn't get to.
  8. Dillard: "The comeback win lit a fire under their bellies." What?

  10. Pirates (Falter) Let's hope so.
  11. I think Seattle, who went 6-1 against the white sox, would have loved another six games against them. Especially if they miss the playoffs by a game. And I don’t care about Seattle. I just think when the margins are this small, an extra 6 games against an historically bad team are nice.
  12. Mets-Braves season series is 5-5 heading into their series tomorrow. -Mets win two out of three, they will be three games up with the tiebreaker, which is the same as a clinch. -Braves win 2 of 3, they host KC in the final series, one game behind NY with the tiebreaker. -Braves sweep, they are one game up with the tiebreaker. Mets would probably need to sweep the Brewers. Pretty compelling stuff in the last week of the season. The #1 seed is still in play in the NL, the DBacks are the third team in the NL WC race for the last two spots, and there are four teams fighting for two WC spots in the AL, it's going to be exciting! And yes, I know that, mathematically, the Padres and Orioles haven't clinched their WC yet, the Padres can catch LAD by sweeping them, among other things. I just don't expect it to happen. Detroit gets the CWS in the final three games. They can match Minnesota and KC's 12-1 record against the Sox, and go a long way toward assuring they make the playoffs.
  13. What a difference a year makes. Last year, the NL had two playoff teams with an 84-78 record and a negative run differential. This year it is likely all NL playoff teams will have 90 wins and positive run differential.
  14. When Simmons was with the Brewers, I always thought he was stoned when he was interviewed. However, I was in college at the time, so I may be projecting somewhat.
  15. That point about the ballpark not helping is certainly true. It seems as if Cincinnati has missed the point about the use of the bullpen, especially when compared to MKE. I know, only Cleveland can favorably compare to the WPA the Brewers have gotten out of their bullpen, but a small-market team like CIN has to operate within those same margins to find success.
  16. I lived in Cincinnati for 9 years. The Brewers were in the AL at the time, so I was a combo Brewers/Reds fan. Still have a rooting interest in the franchise. I am so surprised that they fired Bell, because they have a very conservative front office. The feeling at Redszone is that while Bell wasn't very good, he had little to work with, and the ownership is terrible as well. Not a lot of hope that they will make a hire to turn things around. There is a contingent that thinks Barry Larkin will come out of the booth to manage. I think that would be terrible, but the franchise loves them some hometown/legacy managers.
  17. Was never going to be able to watch today. Knew they went down 8-0, and came here to catch up on the IGT anxiety. Didn’t even know they won til I read the thread. Kind of a funny way to find out.
  18. Excellent pull. Parra could lose it as quickly as anyone
  19. I had just sent a text to my friend about how much I hate having Mitchell bat cleanup.
  20. God, I hate having the backward k batting cleanup.
  21. 22 runs in his last 24.2 over six games.
