  1. The Braves signed Gio Urshela, or as I expect him to soon be called, "World Series MVP Gio Urshela." You just know he will mash in Atlanta.
  2. Wouldn't that be just like the Cardinals to go 6-1 in only six games? #BFIB
  3. I was thinking the HBP was a hit. So the fact you pointed out wasn’t on my mind
  4. Rea, 46 pitches through four scoreless
  5. If the playoffs were next week, it would be broken. good god.
  6. Like other leagues, I think we are seeing more load management in baseball. Why kill yourselves to win 105 games? Just get to the playoffs.
  7. Sad to say, I never played in a major league game after the surgery. Seriously, the relief was immediate. I did two months of PT and was running again within three months. Had surgery in Feb, was back to normal by summer.
  8. After six months of “grit my teeth and hold on to my chair” pain, I had a discectomy in 2009. I had done steroids, traction, PT, rest. Nothing helped. The day after my surgery I got out of bed, and it was fixed. Pain gone. I hope Yelich has the same result. Full disclosure: I am not a professional athlete making 20+ million per year, so I realize the stakes are different.
  9. What a weird flex. I think he was trying to hit back at the fans who think they don't spend enough. "See fans, we are spending money! We may be battling for last place, but we aren't cheap!" The problem is, it makes Hoyer seem really bad at his job. And their 40-million dollar manager doesn't even count in that number.
  10. Come on, man. You beat me by a minute!
  11. It is interesting to me that the Guardians are 5-5 against the White Sox. KC and MIN are both 12-1 in games against CWS. Cleveland could have a much more comfy lead. KC and MIN's entire margin above .500 is built on their domination of the White Sox.
  12. Given that Murphy seems to like L-R-L-R for the most part, do you think he should abandon that for Hoskins in the three spot? Because he's probably not moving Chourio, Contreras or Adames down. I love that Chourio's improvement has allowed Murphy to move Adames down, and I like Contreras in the cleanup spot.
  13. And, a game thread is a game thread. Often, they become remixes of other threads. Frelick has a bad ab? Say it! But then it bleeds over into an issue that is discussed in its own thread. And, if posters can bring up their own old posts to prove they were correct, I reserve the right to point out when they were wrong (and when they were correct as well!). That Dodger series beat me up as a fan. So happy with a split. I think they can handle Cleveland.
  14. As a Badger fan, I think these games have the same vibe as playing Ohio State in football. Just hanging on for dear life, knowing if you play perfectly, you can win, but end up making rather uncharacteristic errors. It sucks.
  15. Can Will Smith just go away, please?
  16. Sure hate to see what the Brewers have given up to the bottom half of the Dodger order in this series. Especially because it gives extra at bats to the top half.
  17. Since falling behind 3-0 yesterday, Brewers have outscored LA 8-1. DOMINANCE!
  18. I’m exhausted after being at that game. So full of highs and lows. I was in the 300s and I kept getting up to walk off my nerves when I’m usually pretty calm.
  19. Do you think Paredes will pitch again this year? Didn't they just move him to the 60-day? It seems as if Enoli has hit...the wall* *See, that's hilarious, because paredes means "walls" in Spanish.
  20. Pittsburgh is in a rough stretch. Dropped like a rock to the bottom of the division in a week. Just look at their post-ASB schedule. Philly, StL, AZ for 6, SD for 6, Houston and the Dodgers. I know the quality of competition is tough with those teams, but the Pirates have a lot of pieces, including a starting rotation that is envy of a lot of teams.
